I guess when one of your clubs is so shit you think there's literally no chance of them ever qualifying for Europe, you don't take the necessary steps to ensure the conflict of interest is resolved.

Way out West
I think it's also complicated by the fact that Lyon have been relegated (for the purposes of which French league they play in next season). It seems that, in order to play in Europe next season (whether Europa League or Conference) they need to demonstrate their finances are in order - and basically need to sell loads of players pronto. If they can't do so, then they won't be able to play in Europe next season, and the Palace issue won't be relevant.

Both Tony Bloom and Villas owner were forced to sell shares to be allowed to enter the European competitions two seasons ago, although City were allowed despite a much more obvious ownership issue(go figure) the following season

I hate those wankers, however bearing in mind it was something I’d dreamed of since 1978 and the excitement levels in this house of the boy and the wife when we qualified, I’m not sure having it taken off them at this stage is something I’d personally revel in.
(Gettin soft in my old age)

I’m gradually accepting they’re in it, I’ll have a bet on them to win it as insurance (as I did the FA Cup at 12/1 😞) and just hope they get humiliated in the group stage.

As hilarious as it would be (and I’d probably rupture something laughing), I’m sure they’ll work something out.
Agreed - no chicken counting going on here.

I'd be more shocked at a new stand being built at Selhurst Park *

(* - The project, first announced in 2017 and originally due to be completed by 2021, has been beset by delays and rising costs. It was originally expected to set Palace back between £75million ($98.8m) and £100m but, by 2022, that had increased to £150m. It is now anticipated to exceed £200m.)

and the Forest owner had to do something this year to avoid a clash with Olympiacos. You'd like to think these owners, especially TB, wouldn't sit back and allow this to be overlooked. UEFA had a 1st March deadline for a reason........

Just far enough away from LDC
I hope it doesn't happen because I don't have a corset strong enough and my sides will split 😀

But seriously, given the animosity between Textor and Parish it would be a calamity if they were stitched up because of warring owners and lack of planning. And you can see that Lyonnais are so poorly run under Textor anyway by their own financial problems.

Even UEFA can't be that evil....can they?

whilst the meltdown by the hoodie clad ultra schoolboys would be hilarious, I actually wouldn't want Palace to miss out because of this. Like it or not, they are in the Europa League by merit. It would be better if they fail miserably ,dont qualify for knockout and don't get a point in the first stages.

Im sure it will be worked out if necessary , but its going to set UEFA a headache they don't want as it will set precident
