I feel somewhat deflated and meh about this tonight, I feel like someone has punched me in the stomach and taken my mojo away and thrown it into the sea.

Looking forward to it tonight. Our games against Liverpool have tended to be very entertaining games and we play them very well. The first half at Anfield was one of the better halves we have played this season and it provoked a very strong response from Slot at HT.

Also there is something riding on this, regardless of the European ramifications I think people are overlooking what an achievement 8th place and potentially 61 points would be considering all the setbacks we have had this season.

Good point, we can end the home games in style with a win. Prize money is still a factor. And sets up going to Spurs.

Hopefully it follows similar pattern to the city game under de zerbi when both teams went all out.

Monday night football - bag 'o shite.

I'm once again in the debt of my family who have moved things around to accommodate a game that should reasonably have been at the weekend, when they wouldn't have to. And very lucky I'm not away for work as I have been on four Mondays already this year.

Still, with even more games on TV next season and the club sending out naughty notices for non-attendance I may still be looking back on this clusterfuck with fondness at some point in the future.

Yes the old mojo has taken a kicking after Saturday's result. Still absolutely gutted about it really, despite being utterly convinced Palace would win the damn thing since Fulham rollled over for them in the Q'final.

We just have to roll our sleeves up, do the best we can in this last game and see how things pan out. The players still deserve a great send off this evening. Not entertaining any silly '8th still can'... shenanigans until the ECL final is done. Looking forward to showing some more appreciation for Ali Mac the Premier League Winner. Hopefully the attendance is healthy tonight despite everything, as quite frankly the empty seats trend is getting a bit embarassing and a tad worrying.

And then off to Spurs for one final day on the sauce in London next Sunday. With Newcastle winning their first trophy in +70 years, Palace winning their first ever silverware (a horrible, awful, depressing thing to have to write), I am convinced those of us at Spurs next Sunday will be there for a Europa party and trophy walkaround for Spuds too. A freakish season on so many levels.

Having a strong and vibrant rivalry is part of the pantomime of football as entertainment. That means sometimes it goes their way, and sometimes it goes ours. One sided rivalry's are boring. Everton have seen Liverpool win the league, Birmingham are watching Villa in the Champions League, Sunderland are watching Newcastle steam ahead, and none of those teams have been within touching distance for a long time, even if all three lesser sides can see better days ahead. Point being, we currently have a strong two-way rivalry and it makes it all the more fun. It was their turn last week, and in our h2h this season, so hats off to them. It hasn't been their turn for several years.

I don't think treating a rivalry as anything more than pantomime is particularly healthy.
