Partey too is nowhere near the standard the Arsenal fans would have you believe: there’s not another top six side who’d pick him in their side.
What I found most bizarre was the way Partey seemed to go from whipping boy on their get rid list among Arsenal fans to being an indispensable first team players whose suspension was the main reason they lost the first leg of the Champions League semifinal!

Can I just confirm - it doesn't matter to us whether Arsenal or Newcastle win now does it?
No but it’d be hilarious if Arsenal finished 3rd in a 2-horse race.

As it is for Fulham and Bournemouth, and Brentford. Wouldn’t put it past Bournemouth to win at City on Tuesday. City who havent scored a goal in two games against free scoring Bournemouth.
Yer bmuff is one to keep an eye on. Will be bloody annoying if they beat city and we lose to pool.

Arsenal are in need of major improvement if they’re to avoid going further backwards next season. They’re so utterly ordinary in key areas of the pitch. No team who considers themselves contenders has a player of Martinelli’s mediocrity as a regular first choice player. Partey too is nowhere near the standard the Arsenal fans would have you believe: there’s not another top six side who’d pick him in their side.

My head hurts with it all, but I think a Newcastle win would be preferable, to increase the chances of Chelsea finishing where we need them to.

Lack of of a top quality Striker last summer, was almost negligent.

Obvious they're not winning league without one.
But the rest of their team isn’t great either.

Rice, Saka, Saliba are the class acts. I guess I look at the question of how many of your players do other clubs envy? And they’re not queuing up to sign Kiwior, Martinelli, Partey, White or Trossard are they? All perfectly average PL players but not exactly the ones to take you to the next level. Plus Ødegaard has been poor for months now, leaving Rice as their only class midfielder.

I’d pick almost any of the other top six clubs’ midfields over theirs. Gravenberch/ Mac Allister/ Szobozslai, Joelinton/ Bruno Guimaraes, Caicedo/ Lavia, Gibbs-White/ Elliott Anderson, Tielemans/ Kamara/ Ramsey/ McGinn/ Rogers: all better than the Arsenal midfield.

Thanks - that's vaguely how I understood it. Plus, as others have mentioned, it's always amusing to watch Arsenal lose.

Other than Saka, Arsenal lack players that step up when the occasion needs it. Eze did that yesterday. When they were all over PSG in that first 20mins of their second leg, Martinelli in particular spurned chances. Those are the marginal differences.

For years, the perception of Arsenal is that they wilt under pressure. Goes right back to the Wenger era where you knew if teams got in their faces and dared to challenge them, they’d lose their minds.

TBF we’ve lied in similar circumstances in the past
Have any of our players EVER scored when we’ve sung that?

I remember singing it about Chris O’Grady at Brentford (I think) once.

He didn’t score.

So for Europe we need 4 points from 2 games (which is doable), Chelsea to win the Europa league conference (which is likely), and Forest to beat Chelsea on the final day meaning they finish 7th (which is possible).

We can do this!
Plus Villa to avoid defeat at United and Bournemouth not to win both (their last game is Leicester, got to hope City stop them).
