I’m sure there are some nice people in Russia. They shouldn’t be allowed to compete either.Might want to check the Israeli entry's back story. It'll give a clue why folk warmed to her.

Do you know anyone who voted?UK audience vote gave 12 points to Israel.
Jesus f***ing Christ.
Not to mention Mossad.Do you know anyone who voted?
Can you imagine how many Israeli people living in the UK want it to look like their actions have support?
Sure did, then quickly turned it into double peace signs. Gave me a good chuckle.Did anyone spot one of our girls giving the camera the finger when it was announced we'd got 0 points?
The juries still vote politically though. 12 from Cyprus for Greece, to name but one example. And it was only 3 years ago that Sam Ryder sort of won it for the UK. Maybe our song just wasn't Eurovision enough. Who knows, the competition never ceases to baffle me. What is really disturbing, though, is how many people blithely and obliviously voted for Israel and a very nondescript song. Quite shocking, really. Even if it was a fantastic song, Israel has no business being anywhere near Eurovision with its non-Europeaness and its murderous regime. Russia has a much better claim to take part with its slightly less murderous regime and slightly more European credentials. It's all so wrong.IIRC the jury system was brought in largely at the behest of the UK (leveraging the enormous funding the country provides to the EBU) to prevent it just being a political popularity contest.
Our nil-points from the televote proved this absolutely right. It wasn’t a winning song, but it was in no way a zero pointer.
Bit of a shit day, really.

Maybe there was a secret "innocent civilians killed, particularly children" level they unlocked this year.Israel received the highest public vote in Eurovision history
He also made a subtle comment regarding the audience reaction to Israel’s performance. It wasn’t the same as we heard on the audio feedGraham just said the quiet part out loud, that the EBU will be relieved![]()
Yes they got 323 votes out of a maximum of 444. That means from 37 blocks of votes they could get got an average of just under 9 votes (given UK and many gave 12).Israel received the highest public vote in Eurovision history
