I know we shouldn’t like it that way, rivalry and all that, but it’s about time a club like Palace, won a cup, a lot better than the usual. So I for one will be rooting for a Palace win !!

If they do win and have a victory parade through the streets of Croydon I hope their fans maintain the tradition that’s been going on since they were founded in 1657 and vandalise their own team bus first. Traditions matter.

Are you sure that wasn't Chrystal Palace?

It's hard to know because there have been so many different clubs.

City only have to turn up.
This really worries me a great deal. Sigh.

I cannot stomach them winning something first, pipping us to Europe and the media fan boys wanking relentlessly over their atmosphere and claiming that it 'belongs' in Europe because it's sooooo good etc. YUK.

So nice of you to drop by Nigel.

A big day for you no doubt. You must be very nervous this morning as you tuck into your all-bran? But perhaps a nervous excitement, no?
There is quiet optimism isn't there!

You can't get the idea out of that simple little head of yours can you......the idea that Palace could win the cup today? Even though you keep telling yourself that a Citeh win is more likely. Realism has to kick-in from time to time. But is there a chance? A tiny Palacy chance? Well no. There is not.

I wonder how you'll be feeling come 7pm tonight? Euphoric, best day of your life stuff or utterly bewildered, broken and soulless?

You see, many people on NSC would agree with you that it would be great for a team like Palace to beat the lying, cheating, scandalous serial-winning machine that is Citeh. But we are talking about a team 'like' Palace, not Palace. A Fulham, a Brentford, a Charlton, a Brighton, but not Palace. Never.

Hundreds of thousands of South Saxons will be cheering Citeh on in every second of the match this afternoon. Hoping Halland will crush your players and your collective souls. Hoping that the spanking you got on the 12th April will reoccur to the delight of the Brighton masses:

You have had the most fortunate cup draw this year and everyone knows it, you should be so incredibly thankful for your luck. You got Villa on a bad day, people are saying it was their worst performance of the decade, they were still reeling with defeats by Citeh and PSG. Fulham were rubbish as well and every other cup win you got was because of a lucky draw. For context, we knocked out the two teams sitting above Villa in the Premier League, much tougher matches and a much higher achievement in downing Chelsea and the Toon.

So enjoy the build-up to your big day. The nervous excitement, the self doubt, the foolish hope. And when Citeh do score this afternoon, close your eyes and try to imagine the roar of elation and jubilation coming out of all those Sussex living rooms and pubs. You are going to get absolutely hammered.

Oh and also, is this particular picture hanging on your wall? You might find yourself punching it tonight as you drown your sorrows whilst considering why you live in such a shit place and support such a horrid little football team!

It's a gamble for sure. But Citeh have looked very good recently. Palace have one game plan, hitting teams fast and effectively on the break. I think Pep is just too smart to let them have the chances they need to win.

Are you sure about that, seemed clueless against Southampton?

Silly old bat
Weighing it up, I have two friends who are Palace fans, but three friends who are City fans and have been for decades, so come on City.

So why is the cup final today and not the usual season closer?

So why is the cup final today and not the usual season closer?
Not the first time
When Sunderland won in 1973,they played QPR at home a few days later
And paraded the Cup on a table by the side of the pitch
Rumour has it Stan Bowles had a wager he could knock it off during the game
which he duly did
