In a war that isn't a war and must not be discussed, at least 250 human beings have been murdered within the last 48 hours. Meanwhile countless others lie lifeless, covered by the bricks and concrete of bombed buildings. An army from a state that must not be named are moving troops into an open air prison that is roughly 25 miles long and 6 miles wide. This army has two options. Either shoot everyone on sight and bury them with the help of hundreds of bulldozers, or round people up in their thousands, and expel them from the land of their births. These people (around 2.3 million, but who knows how many now) have been deliberately starved, denied access to clean water and medicine by the state that must not be named, whilst dozens upon dozens of aid trucks full of supplies stand uselessly outside the prison walls. The West sits by - and not only does nothing - but is actively participating in the slaughter. But it's nice, isn't it? The quiet.

Some threads turn nasty & threats of legal action to the site owner have occurred. It's not that people don't want to discuss it, but we'd prefer it if NSC wasn't shut down. 🤷‍♀️

It's the control of the narrative. No one must talk about it in fear of being sued, for acknowledging the horror.

Before this thread is deleted, can anyone tell me what I can do to help to stop this horror? I feel helpless, and I don't really consume much so it's hard to 'vote with my wallet'.

This has affected a whole generations views on a certain country.

A silencing campaign has been very successful around this.

Free speech is sadly dying.

The thread on NSC was closed for a reason.

The abuse and insults that ran through ‘that’ thread at posters with different POVs and the stereotyping about different cultures and religion were shocking on both sides and Mods had all but given up trying to moderate it - football forums (or any social media platform for that matter) don’t lend themselves easily to nuanced and complex debates, especially when it comes to clashes between historic, cultural and religious differences . Those that tried to explain it in depth were castigated for writing posts that were too long by those wanting soundbite tiktok type exchanges. Those that spoke out in defence of innocent victims on both sides were pilloried for ‘being on the fence’; or worse supporting terrorism; those that failed to understand geo-political contexts, were blinded by their passion at witnessing human tragedy and polarised their hatred instead towards whole populations of people instead of against the people that control them.

What is going on is generally well reported if people want to still follow it but if there is general ’quiet’ in the MSM, it is because for a long time, there has been a ban of foreign journalists in the war zone and increasing numbers of homegrown journalists are dying. There is also a limit to what international peace keeping or law institutions can do when there are so many vested interests in outcome amongst allied powers or countries at war don’t even recognise those intitutions.

I’m currently consulting with the other site Moderators regarding this thread. For those who claim free speech is being impinged etc then I should imagine there are plenty of places online where you can discuss and debate this topic.

NSC is unlikely to be one of them, unless you are prepared to personally guarantee to financially underwrite any potential legal costs for the site owner and moderators resulting from the comments of others.

To be clear, I am not suggesting that NSC is in any way impinging free speech, more it is being impinged by others.

I am fully supportive of the site and the decisions the moderators deem necessary.

It's just a shame those decisions are necessary.

Because real things can't be discussed.
If, hypothetically, there was a genocide, that virtually all the scholars of genocide agreed was a genocide, how would you feel knowing you were silent or allowed yourself to be silenced?

Good point. Let me know when you’ve finished setting up your online forum to debate these topics and I’ll pop over and join in.

I remember a time when NSC was a place to discuss working at KFC, piles, fireworks, splitting up with your girlfriend, recipes, ordering moody pizza and Jamieing etc etc

Of course it can be discussed - but unfortunately there will be people with one sided views which eventually result in insults and vitriol - and threads (if not whole sites) getting closed down. The fact is that both sides are driven by malice and wickedness. And yes, the mindless slaughter than goes on is wicked and unpardonable, whether it's dropping bombs on civilians or shooting up hundreds of kids at a festival because they belong to a race you want to eradicate.

Sadly, another vote here for the mods to close this thread.
