Can't expect it all our own way in Div 1. Worcs are very much bottom of the table but we must have a very good chance of winning this now. Seems like we prepared a result pitch for this one.

How long is it since you’ve been there and what are the good upgrades?

Probably at least six or seven years. I am a bit of a jonx as I have booked for three T20s in recent years and they have all been rained off without a ball being bowled or even looking like it.

I was always preferred watching games at Arundel and Horsham so didn't get to Hove as much. Obviously with the changes in how the season now runs and the very limited use of outgrounds those nice days out are few and far between.

Much as I miss the 'clank' of the old scoreboard, the new scoreboard is very easy to read and having occasional replays is a bonus. The toilet facilities seem much better now (and more of them). The South West corner seating gives great views now (as do the temporary stands at the North End) and the area under the South West corner with the bar, Sixes, etc is nice enough.

The new Sussex Cricketer was a big disappointment though. My mate said it looked more like a Prezzo than an pub and the old beer garden would have been packed on a nice day like Saturday. We didn't bother going in.

Even on Saturday while not keeping quite as low, there were a few balls which seemed to skid through on a lower trajectory than you expected.

All the games have been good so far haven't they.

There's just an extra thrill to being in the top division. I'm so happy we're competitive.
