Donald Trump has tapped Dr Casey Means – a wellness influencer with close ties to Robert F Kennedy Jr, the US health secretary – as nominee for surgeon general. Means has no government experience and dropped out of her surgical residency program to found a health tech company, and makes money promoting dietary supplements, creams and teas.

And perhaps most worrying of all…

In her defence, she does seem keen on healthy eating programs.

CNN interrupts show for breaking news announcement in major blow to Donald Trump​

In a shocking announcement that interrupted regular programming on CNN News, President Donald Trump downplayed the urgency of trade deals he had previously promised.

After boasting about imminent "deals" for weeks, the President revealed during an Oval Office meeting with Canada's Prime Minister on Tuesday that such agreements may not be as critical after all. Trump boldly claimed, "We don't have to sign deals."

Scott Jennings (a commentator on CNN) went further as he explained the advantage America has over China when negotiating, "And people would rather do business with us than do business with China because... they have all these strategies to inflict pain upon you if you don't bend to their will or allow them to break the rules."

Oh, and that's not what Trump is trying to do to the rest of the world, especially the countries that have been the friends of the US?


Surprise! Surprise! Now Trump says the US doesn't have to sign deals after saying there were many countries asking to make deals. What a f***ing idiot!

Trump may have fascistic ambitions and in IMHO is evil, but he is not thick. He knows how to groom people and a lot of Americans fall for it.

Generally most people in the UK have a dim view of Trump, Starmer would do well not to suck up too much and yes call out some of the bollocks, it wouldn't hurt him in the polls. Carney is a master at this, keeping it cordial one to one (in public at least) but making his position very clear

May I give you a couple of recent examples of why I argue that Trump is thick?

1) He couldn't understand "why Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinians"

2) He believes that "Ukraine started the war with Russia"

I mean.....just how dumb have you got to be to come up with complete garbage like that?

Stop talking him up as a brainbox. He really isn't. You are giving him way more credit than he deserves.

Trump actually rowed back on China, said something about tariffs can come down in talks.

the UK deal seems largely superficial, rather like the Ukraine minerals deal at time of Zelensky meeting, some headline items to be talked about in coming weeks before an actual deal. we still have the 10% tariff at the end because that is the end game for all (so he can generate revenue to cover his tax cuts).
