Right, yes, astonishing drone numbers. I hadn't quite got my head around them until you spelled it out 👍. Their issue may become training sufficient drone operators, more than producing the drones themselves.

I did read something a couple of weeks back: very good drone operators can run about 9 short sorties per shift/day 🤔, actually my memory is very hazy on that one so I could be way off. Still, I can imagine that long distance FPV flights are watched all the way ?

I also read yesterday (yes, I don't know where) that drone operators near or at the front line (surveillance drones or short flight combat drones) are often injured or sometimes killed as the Russians are able to track/identify their hiding places, which are often just mud bunkers. That stopped my illusion of the operators mainly being in some 'control point' office type structure.
I read somewhere (.....) maybe a few weeks go, that Ukraine were now the most combat-ready nation on earth. I took that to mean the most experienced and capable in modern drone warfare.

On a serious note, and looking for a silver lining out of that very bad scenario, if India is now worried about Pakistan kicking off is it likely to mean fewer weapons making their way to this conflict, or indeed an uptick in demand from India for Russia to supply them?

The contrast is staggering.

An old gargoyle looking murdering fascist, whose scared to move in public without all roads being closed off and is terrified of his own people and a much younger, heroic man of his people walking down Kyivs main central street, Kreshatyk, in the middle of the day, delivering truth bombs and dignity.

He is so inspirational. A true leader of his people, he is one of them

Tyrants committing atrocities is not new.

Many of you will know the school on Elm Grove. I was talking to a 91 year old in a VE day commemoration. She told me how she lived in a shop nearby, and the German pilots timed their approach, so that they would be over the school at 12 midday, to machine-gun the school children as they came out of school. She and her mum regularly had other mums and children taking cover in their cellar.

In fighter aircraft? More than once? Bit weird.

That was what she said, although she didn't say if they were fighter aircraft or bombers. As I understand it, the bombers went to bomb elsewhere (I guess London) and used to ditch their bombs on Brighton on their way back to Germany, especially if they were being chased by the RAF.

There's some right thick sicko's in the comments section, unfortunately.

My father, my grandmother and three uncles went to that school - and they lived pretty much round the corner. I never heard any of them ever mention it. I do know that Brighton was often bombed.
Perhaps the grisly stuff wasn't shared with children, either by parents, grandparents, or by the school. You tend not to be told what happened to your parents in the war, as they want to protect you. You tend to only find out the odd grisly details from the memories of others. My father fought in Burma (as well as other places) but he never spoke about it. I've absolutely no idea what he did there.

I very much doubt the Germans timed their bombing so they could be over schools in Brighton at midday! The timing would have been based on the primary target and according to a quick google, Brighton wasn't a primary bombing target. It was subject to indiscriminate bombing as bombers returning home would jettison any bombs left over Brighton (and other coastal towns) before heading back over the channel. That said, to a child at the time it probably felt that they were being targeted.
