We owe everything to Dick Knight.

Not taking anything away from what Tony Bloom has done/is doing - but without Dick Knight, none of it would be possible. There would be no Falmer Stadium, and in all likelihood, no BHAFC as we know it.

What he did was incredible. Not only did he keep the club alive on life-support, but this period was also the most successful in its history, in terms of silverware.

I really do think we should have, and would love to see, a statue of him at the Amex.
Agreed about the statue. If any club is going to have a statue then surely this is it. As you said, we probably wouldn’t even have a club if it wasn’t for him.

Fantastic stuff. Is there any footage of Knight and Bloom shaking hands?

Brilliant, never forget the role Dick Knight played in the history of our club.
Exactly! The way I look at it is like this:

Without Tony Bloom we would not have had PL football or Eurpean football or probably the Amex. Without Dick Knight there is a very good chance there would not have been a club for Tony Bloom to buy.

Thank you Dick. Your recognition is well deserved and long overdue.

The handshake and embrace between Dick & Tony was so good to see. Very relieved that the planning went under the radar - it was a complete surprise for Dick. (He thought he was there to present an award to me). An excellent video package too. It was truly heartwarming to see. Credit must go to PBOBE for listening to our representations. Together we will win.

Well done Paul for no doubt helping to organise this.

As you say, truly heartwarming.

Very good Great that Bloom spoke and all looked very genuine. However hope club now dont think they have got that out of the way and his lasting memory is to be the name of an annual award and a bar in North Stand. Club chose to put sponsorship income first and therefore missed opportunity with the Terrace. but something must be done that is very visual and youngsters and new attendees will be able to ask about him and know what he did for years to come.

Nice to see my "we want falmer banner" again.

I made 10. When I got to the station to go to Wycombe, I realised I'd left them at home.

Two very strong willed leaders can’t work alongside each other

But thank God for both of them!
Many years ago James Black (invented propranolol and cimetidine) and John Vane (worked out how aspirin works) were employed at Wellcome in Beckenham. Both were Nobel prizewinners. Didn't get along. Wiki says Black resigned but I happen to know that a management consultant team was brought in and decided the best thing would be to sack the pair of them.

Luckily we didn't go that route.
