Well this is a bit of a disaster for Ukraine from Germany. Bloody useless pr1cks in useless Olaf Scholz party double crossing and sticking in the knife?

It’s a bit of a disaster for all of Europe in that it further emboldens AfD, which is unsurprisingly demanding new elections. If it leads to them getting into power, those 18 MPs that voted against Merz will have a great deal to answer for.

It was a secret ballot as well, so there’s no certainty of which MPs need their ears boxing ahead of a 2nd round vote.

Well, it's later than I thought, but they do need to keep the lights on.
I had no idea that Europe imports nuclear fuel and derived products from Russia. Every day's a school day.

Russian interference in Polish election:

(Poland is a member of NATO and the EU)

No real surprise. Only local elections but was there any Russian interference in our elections last week, they would have wanted Reform to win.

I ever there was a man who needed to avoid balconies.
I read a few weeks/months (where does the time go?) back that he had raised a blood feud with some Ingushetians (next door to Chechnya) over a business deal. Then we heard that he had been attending unauthorised meetings in foreign countries with a view to moving his whole family out of Russia.

We already knew he was a violent warlord, unpopular with the local Chechens and was in poor health. Perhaps he overstretched himself and made too many enemies .

All very good points.

They'll be nobody surprised when it's reported he's mysteriously died in a few months.

I think you're right - some powerful people overstretch thinking they're untouchable. Hmmm

First few minutes of video:
- fires in Moscow as Russia shoots down Ukrainian drones heading for infrastructure targets
- Ukraine hits electronics factory in Bryansk

Moscow closed its airports earlier today due to drone attacks. Surely worrying and embarrassing for Putin in the lead up to his weekend party. Worrying too for ordinary Muscovites who increasingly see signs of the war being brought to them.
