Now that Chelsea have won, they can't finish below 7th.

Which means officially there will be no "extra" European spot if they win the Conference League.

Possibly a mixture of both, my comment was more directed at the fact Liverpool tossed the game off with all the changes, i was being very bitter, playing the victim, but looking at their team yesterday with Sammy Lee in nets and Jimmy Tarbuck left back it was only going one way.

It could be argued that so many changes calls into question the integrity of the league, it could also be argued that I’m acting like a spoilt eight year old , now pull my finger.

We would feel exactly the same with such a late fall off. We are already a little pissed how we have fallen away since we lost to you in the Cup, by a very very fine margin

It’s the hope that appears to have killed both clubs, BUT it’s not over until it’s over. Relying on other clubs is a bit desperate but all fans do it when things are going wrong.

Desperate straw clutcher here - but with Newcastle winning the League Cup (which is a qualifier for the Conference League??) will that create another Conference place if Newcastle qualify for the CL - or even the Europa?
