Lampard is a pretty decent manager, his record is decent
Cov were 2 points off relegation when he was appointed. Binning off Robins felt like shooting Bambi at the time, but FF has guided them to 16 wins in 29, up into 5th place. Meanwhile, Sunderlands form has fallen off a cliff.

Would be a brave man to bet against the Sky Blues making the final.

My Sunderland mate said they've basically been playing second string teams to keep the main players fresh for the play-offs.
I'm not convinced thats a great tactic tbh. There's a fine line between "fresh" and "rusty". You can't switch it off and on - those players would have been desperate to have played the run-in, rather than sitting around on the sidelines picking peanuts out of poo.

I stand to be corrected, but I think Coventry's momentum will sweep Sunderland away.

Lamps has done incredibly well, he made the understandable but flawed decision to go to Chelsea so early but he's earning his stripes now.

Felt a bit sorry for Luton, that's a right old rollercoaster. Anyway, we're sorted so time for a beer.

Cant be many teams that have done PL to League 1 in back to back seasons?

Sunderland and Wolves maybe?
In 8 years Northampton went from tier 4 to tier 1 and all the way back again:

Impressive for any division. Our Leagues are ridiculous 👍
Germany have something to say about that - their 2nd tier have 3 teams above 50k, then 3 teams above 40k, then 5 teams well above 20k. Their third tier has 4 teams averaging well above 20k and a host of teams in the teens.
2 teams in League 1above 20k.

Amazing attendances in Germany too! With incredible atmospheres to boot, unlike here (yes even in the lower leagues for the most part - really isn't just a PL thing)

Yep, massive (Deep) football Nation and football culture. The observation was not exclusive to our pyramid.

Bradford with a 96th min promotion winning goal, scorer sent off, presumably over celebrating🤣

Crowd was 24k+, impressive for 4th division.
Got to feel for Walsall as that goal denied them automatic promotion and they had led the League by about 14 points in January. They won today for the first time in 13 league games !
