It's absolute bullshit that a team as bad as man utd or spurs is going to qualify for the champions league.

UEFA should ban them on principal - it would give the lie to it being an elite competition if either of those shambles were allowed in.

That said I think my preference would be for a Spurs win. I think it would be quite fitting that they finally win something in the season when they finish one place above the relegation zone.

United haven't even been good in the Europa League ffs - they were a joke in the quarters till half way through extra time, then absolute shit tonight till the goal out of absolutely nowhere and then soft as shit pen and sending off to go with it
This. Even the comeback in that extra time in quarters was probably more to do with they were playing against 10 men for an hour who were knackered. The sending off in that game was a joke too!

Assuming they both get through, it's a tough call on who I would like most to lose.

Could do with both clubs, not getting the boost a trophy and UCL next season would give them.
Man Utd to lose all day long. I can’t stand their arrogant owners and fans.

You’ve seen Utd now f*** off home?
Subsidise our national stadium in the north?

We need Utd to lose to plunge them further into debt and further down the table - hopefully to relegation.

The League benefits with an extra European place due to their performances (along with Villa, Chelsea and Arsenal) in Europe this year, I'm not sure where I sit on the CL spot, but there should be European qualification

Over the years there has been people suggesting winning the FA cup should have a CL spot, winning the EL is more of an achievement

A Spurs win would surely save Ange’s job, which is something to hope for…
No chance

I think you've got to grit your teeth and give them both a bit of credit for progressing to the SFs (at least).

We shat the bed when we had a chance.
Well it’s certainly annoying Roma haven’t been near those levels for a while

I agree the ultimate Spursy season. 😂

Also their fans would be less awful about it.

I don't think winning the f.a cup should get a champions league spot but I'm not sure winning the E.L should gt you one either. I don't remember that being the case when the cups were the european cup, uefa cup and cup winners cup. Winning it should just get you back in the competition to defend it.

It just doesn't seem right that teams that have performed as badly domestically as Utd and Spurs get to play in what is supposed to be the worlds elite football tournament. Between them they've lost 34 of their 68 league games.

There has always been a lot of noise around it, I reckon there is double figure threads in here about it haha

I'm not sure where I sit on CL wise as you are you are correct, however if those clubs are not rewarded for actually winning it, there shouldn't be an extra place in the league for it either as that space is on the back of clubs doing well

It started when they begun the Europa league group stage I believe.

My thoughts on it have always been that a club that has won a competition(EL) is more or a “Champion” than a club that has come 4th in their domestic league. They should also boost the prize money in the lower competitions although that might threaten the hegemony of the larger clubs.
