Because they're daft enough to get suckered in by this trickless magician. Maybe they feel everyone is laughing at them and this prat will shield them, well - we are laughing at them and their shield is too, whilst fleecing them for any money they might have. It's all very shameful and sad because the people suckered in are the people who are lacking for human contact, validation and purpose. There are others who are going along for personal gain, of course, and others who have nothing better to do than go along with whatever is in vogue at that moment in time.

The issue isn't America's wealth, its more more per capita than European countries. The issue how is how this wealth has been concentrated in the hands with in an increasingly small group of people.
