I noticed on Social Media that Buzz and the rest of the fit staff are walking 35 miles in recognition of the BHAFC Foundation 35th anniversary.

Credit to them etc!

However, I find it quite baffling that the Foundation are actually 35 years old. I’m a big supporter of theirs and love the work they do but this number feels like it’s been plucked from the sky.

I recall the foundation or AITC coming to prominence during the Withdean era and was possibly conceived by Knight and Perry etc. What I don’t recall is it ever being around during the Goldstone era under Archer and Belloti in 1990.

Wasn’t this something that the likes of Steve Ford were involved with in the 90s?

I know it existed in 1993/4 as I was on a sports leadership course at sixth form and this involved me refereeing a tournament for special needs children at the Goldstone.

I made sure I scored into the North Stand as part of the warm up!

There was a clip about the Foundation at HT at one of the games, talking about the previous incarnations of it to the point of it becoming the Foundation. I can't remember them, but I seem to recall about three or four different names.

This is from the programme for the home match against Middlesbrough on February 28 1990:-

Funnily enough, given the OP name, the only player I spoke to on the day was Clive Walker 😂
