Don't know if this is of interest to anyone but Hove has just introduced walking rugby for those of, er, more mature years. This is a new sport and Sussex has set up what we believe is the first walking rugby league in the country (albeit with just four teams at present). We hope to follow the path of walking football, which has been very successful. It's mixed gender and suitable for any age.

So, if anyone fancies a bit of exercise, playing with odd-shaped balls, come to Hove on Weds evenings or message me.

Great idea. In my experience of HRC, the older generation are a right bunch of stubborn buggers. One of the teams I played in had a couple of (I think) over 60s and one was possibly over 70. They could still play though!

There is a Vets team at Hove as well and a Vets touch session. I do play the touch but I stay well away from the contact - at 68, I'd be broken.

Are there any red lights involved? That's what she said.

Yeah, worryingly, a few of the vets are guys that I played with in the first and second teams many moons ago!
