update on the US GDP : Q1 down -0.3.

one upside this gets the recession in Q2 and inevitable policy changes sooner.

Good summation in The Guardian today of Trump’s first 100 days as “Tackling problems that don’t exist with policies that don’t work”.

Seattle port traffic is down 80-90%, the Yanks have little tolerance to being denied of anything.

Gonna get interesting and we're not just talking Covid style bog roll fights
I wonder what's going to happen when scarcity becomes commonplace in a country where anyone can buy a f***ing assault rilfe.

While this might be the only true claim he made during his speech, the reduced numbers have nothing to do with more effective border control and more to do with Trump having turned the US into a country which no sane person would want to live anymore, which he has achieved in just the first 100 days of his Presidency.

Although I'm sure many people perceive me as insane I still think the US is salvageable and I certainly don't want to leave my country yet and I'm extremely proud of the way this country has developed and the future possibilities of the US. Trump is a huge black mark on America but 8 total years will not ruin this country forever.

I've been saying for almost a decade that I believe Trump will have the effect of a forest fire. Burning through everything in its path and causing untold and even some unseen damage to everything in its path. Like a fire, he has no regard for collateral damage or interest in the impact they are having on the environment around them.

What I see as positive for the US now is that a lot of younger people are getting engaged and looking to run for office. AOC primaried and defeated a long-time incumbent and I'm hopeful that a few other "lifers" will fall. Democratic politics requires a full clear out of the Dinosaurs, Chuck Shumer embarrassed himself on Colbert. It wasn't Biden at the debate bad, but it was ineffective and weak at a time the US needs the opposition to be at their strongest. The Democrats have taken a massive beating over the last year but I think there are signs it's starting to stand up for itself and some of the younger voices are starting to be heard.

I am not supporting Corey Booker's early run for the nomination in 2028 though. He's a good soldier, but he's not the General.

Michiana (phrase used by people in the South Bend, Indiana area) Pete Buttigieg? Intelligent but unfortunately gay in a country that won't elect a woman. That prejudice exasperated by Trump MAGA people. He's thinking about running for the Senate in Michigan.

Bit of a different look these days

Secretary Pete is a strong candidate for sure. I really think AOC will be the first woman President, I think the 2028 nomination could come down to a straight fight between the two of them. I feel like AOC has more hatred from the right and is more of a character in their fantasy than Pete is, because it's hard to listen to Pete talk and not think he's actually very sensible and thoughtful with an honest message and clarity in his vision.

The tango tariffs terror is the best blame deflecting President the world has ever seen..many, many people, hundreds, have told him so.
I heard that this morning and I have now adopted a similar approach in my married life...

No, this is the best hung out washing there has ever been, many many people have told me I hang out washing the best.
You are wrong, this is a fantastically sized penis, many many people have told me it's the best penis they've ever seen.
The bins weren't out because of what happened 4 months ago when our son was in charge of the bins.
You are wrong because cognitively I score higher than anyone ever tested ever and I'm super intelligent like genius clever.
