Saved themselves $40M apparently

And brought shitshow to the team. Just not worth it. Unless something will drastically change with this attitude (and Deion in his ears) there are much bigger chances Shedeur will be playing in the CFL in two years than ever play in a regular season NFL game.

I read a few more things, such as one team (allegedly the Giants) gave him some playbook material to read and prep in advance of his interview with them. A fairly standard procedure apparently. Come the interview, he hadn't even looked at it.

Not surprising, he thought only a few selected teams "deserve" him. He didn't realize draft process is a job interview where you have to do your best to impress all 32 teams so one of them will give you a chance. Instead he did exactly the opposite. We'll never know but wouldn't be surprised if he was completely off the board for most teams.

Listen to this (from 18:20) and you'll see why teams have stayed away from him.

Yes.
Daboll furious apparently.
Wrote him off there and then.

Once everyone had stopped laughing at a typical Cleveland decision, I did read an article which said that if they had taken him at the top of the draft, the cost and all the hassle that goes with QB as high draft picks would have been ridiculous.

Taking him as a 5th round pick where his contract will be significantly lower, he will have to fight for a place on the roster. If it turns out he is as good as he (and his Dad) thinks he is, then the Browns have someone they can quietly develop for a year without so much of a spotlight.

If he is a bust, they release him at very little cost when the final rosters are announced and can look at next year where they predict a better class of QB will be available.

Much as we all like to laugh at the Browns, this could end up being a very shrewd bit of business

Good luck with that.

Stefanski will be under big pressure to start him week 1 whether he'll consider him the best QB on the team or not.

Yeah, he has bought his own hype.

Really happy with Steelers getting Howard in the 6th, not sure how Shough, McCord, Gabriel went ahead of him. Seems like a really smart, level headed kid. 6'4" 237lb pocket passer, who's also mobile.

I think he could become a good "game manager" which fits well with the Steelers who have a good defense and want to run the ball (BTW, Kaleb Johnson was a great pick in the 3rd). Would probably be the best for him to sit and learn for a year but Pittsburgh don't really have a starting quality QB on the roster (and in their place I would stay away from drama queen Aaron Rodgers).

Yes.

Well, better find that out soon in the process than waste time (or worse a high draft pick) on him.

Oh ffs...now the Browns have signed WR Diontae Johnson.
Yep, that Diontae Johnson who walked off the field during a game last year, and doesn't stick around anywhere.

Honestly, I'm done with the Browns already, and pen hasnt even been put to paper on any of the draftees potential contracts...
There’s always next year…..😉😂

Don’t know why I’m laughing though, we’re not that far behind you….

I do think we’ll both win more games than New Orleans though.

Now he just needs to move to the Bengals next year for the AFC North sweep

Seattle class was focused on upside and high level athleticism. Bit surprising 9 out of 11 pick were on the offense and I expected to draft a DE and/or a CB. Maybe the board just didn't fall the right way for that to happen but overall can't really complain.

We addressed the most glaring need on the OL with Zabel who should start immediately at LG. Mike Macdonald probably saw a mix of Kam Chancellor and Kyle Hamilton in Emmanwori. Excited to see how he'll use him. Arroyo (if he can stay healthy which was a concern at college and a reason why he dropped to mid 2nd round) could be that receiving TE we never really had. Milroe is clearly a work in progress and should get a season or two behind Darnold to develop although I expect him to see the field this season already with designed QB runs. If he can improve on the short and intermediate throws then with his elite speed and great arm can become very good. Mills is coming off a torn ACL but could become a part of DL rotation later in season. Like both WRs and Damien Martinez too. Hopefully new offensive coaching staff will find a better way to utilise RBs than we did last season as we have a very good depth there now.

A good draft I felt. Kept out of a lot of the nonsense, stuck to what we needed - even if some of those positions aren’t necessarily the sexy ones - and saw value across the board.

Next season will still be rebuilding, and a positive W/L record would be a huge achievement, but I’m looking forward to where this goes. Will miss Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf, but hey, we go again.

It was time to move on from Tyler and Geno imo. And DK wanted out so did get something back for him at least. I think Horton could develop into a good replacement longterm. Not such a physical freak but has good size and speed.
