Not a bad shout out but too young IMHO I wouldn't put that responsibility on him.
JPVH in another year maybe, hes no kid. Although he'll probably be at Liverpool by then.

As an on field captain either JP or Webster are proven, and capable. As a club captain DW wins hands down.

We lose a few games and people want to strip our longest current serving player of the captains armband!?

Get a grip people or go back to watching a big 6 club.
Dunk should be captain until he retires. End of conversation.

No such requirement, there have been many instances where a player as remained club captain and undertaken duties away from the matchday,
Exactly. Dunk remains club captain - and skippers the team when playing. If he’s not playing then Welbeck for me (again, assuming he’s playing) … if not then Solly/JPvH/Webster … in that order, depending who is playing.

Marginally, but he’ll be 26 at next years WC (if he goes). I’d say perfect timing.

The bigger issue for me is him inevitably leaving. We have made a rod for our own back with our business model in that we are lacking captain / leadership material due to our selling policy. Not sure how we solve that one.

Calm heads, people of NSC, calm heads

Stripping Dunk of the captaincy for the last few games would be beyond disrespectful.

If a change is going to to be made, do it in the summer
Yes, this - no way should he be stripped of the captaincy mid-season. Next season, I feel his time as a regular first choice is coming to an end (but still a valuable squad member who will get a fair amount of game time). Maybe some sort of duality would be the best way forward - Dunk as club captain, JPVH as matchday playing captain?

Buy some miles over the hill players from Liverpool who we can't even get on the pitch for more than 7 minutes at a time?

It's just that in some posters view the retirement should take place sooner rather than later and the captaincy should be up for debate now. So for those of this view, conversation started.

Why because he has had some poor genes!? It's a crazy knee jerk reaction.

Are we talking the captain on or off the pitch.
Off the pitch LD is our leader, second only to the management.
On the pitch, if he plays he is captain. But I'm not sure he is first choice to play any more.
Would I sell him, never. He will always have a job at the club.
