Is our 'shop window' strategy becoming counter-productive? I read accusations some players try harder against the richer clubs than the also rans. Anything in this, therefore? I'm not so sure, I don't believe players do that and besides no team is going to look at data for a select few games only. But it's an interesting accusation / thought?

That was probably me I’ve been saying it for a while. I don’t believe this we can’t beat a low block rubbish because for all those teams in our half of the table they all seem to get three valuable points from the fodder at the bottom of the table. Of course they get will get the occasional draw or win but to not win any game against the bottom three at home really is a shocker.

Maybe, but in fairness it’s something other supporters of other clubs level at their players on phone ins etc. And in the past, plenty managers sign players remembering their performance against their side so who knows?!

Absolute nonsense as far as I am concerned. As you say players just aren't scouted like this anymore.

File it along side the whole 'players not trying' trope that fans like to pretend happens.
