Trying to get through from the station to the stadium there were so many people standing outside watching the City game it was difficult to push through.
Good thing was, it was easier to get onto the WSU as it wasn't full of people blocking the top of the stairs watching the early game

It was like a greenhouse up there and it was only around 18 degrees.Sounds like the Amex card holders aren't getting the elite lounge experience they might have been expecting - especially as the place is packed to the rafters and queueing out the door with every f*cker with their freshly printed freebie version of the card and their three mates

Those who have needed to walk through that area and think the bottleneck is inconvenient, might like to try getting through there pushing a very big, very heavy, specialist wheelchair, and see how they find that.
Honestly, it is a f***ing nightmare. It was bad enough getting through that area before, past the ticket office queue, aimless lost Japanese tourists, and people walking straight into the path of the chair, lost in phone-zombie land. Now the limited space is full of groups of three or four drinkers, staring upwards at the screens, oblivious to the people (and massive wheelchair) trying to get past.
Might need to fit an audible warning (or James-Bond style rotating cutting discs) to the thing.

It was busy outside the Terrace but it was still easy to walk through. The fact that it is packed shows that it is a success. I even managed to get upstairs and a seat after the game. It's just a football bar with big screens, not the Ritz, it does a decent job.

On the subject of bottlenecks........was there an issue getting in on Saturday?
I arrived pretty much the same time I arrive most games but the queues for the South West and West Upper seemed massive compared to what they usually are.
Was there a clamp down on bottle top smuggling or something?

What time did you arrive?
We watched the end of the Man City game on the outside of the Terrace, but anticipating the final whistle would mean everyone else standing about heading straight to the ground, we made our move with a couple of minutes of added time to go, and went straight into the WSU with no queueing.
I suspect that had we waited for the City game to finish we'd have been in a big queue to get in.

I watched the end of said game in the Swan and then walked over so I would say it was 2:40/5ish. The queue for the west upper entrance on the south side was going way back past the west reception.

People would congregate there anyway on a nice day. I don't think it's any worse
I think it's likely to be the Terrace effect then.
They were calling last orders around 14:20 so there would also have been a mass migration of those finishing their drinks heading in.
The fact that it was packed is surely because they have taken away all the other bars that are not inside the ground.
Granted, the screens are great to watch the game on in the sun, but once the commentary stops it just turns into Charlie Chalks on acid.
Junior was late arriving and said the same for WSL
