So frustrating, why do we seem to be so reluctant as a club to provide any updates / information about players injuries and potential timescales for a return?

Unless I’m missing something we’ve had no update on:

Rutter
Webster
Lamptey
Veltman
Kadioglu
Igor
Milner (remember him?)

Is the question not being asked at the press conferences and why the continued silence? Other clubs and managers seem to at least put timescales on players expected returns.

Just seems as a club, our policy is to provide as little and few updates as possible.

well my take is why should the club detail everything? players are injured, they will be in squads if they are fit. Why would the club give personal information out, let other teams know in advance who isnt being played etc

I really dont understand this need to know everything all the time. Its between player, and club but if you want to know its not that hard

When Fab gets questions about durations he usually gives some sort of answer. People with too much time on their hands (me included) have a decent idea of when most of these are supposed to return.

Not sure why either but you can be sure it will be a considered approach in the interests of our club.

The phrase “cloak and dagger” comes from 18th-century Europe, where it was first used to describe the melodramatic, swashbuckling stories of intrigue and adventure that were popular at the time.

It is a translation from the French de cape et d'épée and Spanish de capa y espada ("of cloak and sword").

What would the benefit be for the coin in letting the public / competition know the state of our squad?

It might make YOU feel better (or worse) for knowing which players will be back for e.g. next week's match, but how will it help them on the pitch, where it really counts?

Full marks to the OP who follows injury updates on all other clubs

Oh and surely you can knock off Milner..Ferdi Igor ..Webster Rutter from that list as I think we’ve a pretty gd idea we won’t see any of them again this season ..well not unless Milner has been fitted with new hamstrings

Veltman was mentioned at the Palace presser

Igor has been back doing individual training for a couple of weeks, and keeps posting '⏳ Soon' type captions on his stories, so I'd assume we will see him back this season.

Good. Why do you, I or other clubs need to know ?

Problem with injury timescales anyway is they are so often wrong, so better not to speculate (at least publicly) imo.

Just assume anyone that gets injured is likely to be out for the season given our track record. It becomes a massive bonus when/if they then return early.

If that is the policy then he breaks it every week with multiple press conferences where without fail he gives injury updates. And makes a stab at likely returns. And certainly no different from other clubs. Eg: Mitoma was a doubt in Friday press conference and sure enough he misses today. No cloaks. No daggers.
