Still in Brighton
Glad it isn't just me. He uses such a weird tone / intonation.

Even more baffling is that when he's a pundit in a studio he talks, y'know, like a human would.

There's a female commentator who does the exact same inflection/emphasis on certain words that he does. Some crap BBC training I guess. He doesn't sound his natural self unless sat in the studio.

Ely, Cambs.
you can’t beat us even though we had nine men, plus at the time there was 12 of you on the pitch. Taylor is a twat.

First time since 1933 we’ve got the double laughing rights.

We going to Wembley you’re not.

6 points and loads of laughter mainly in your direction.

one question……..Can we play you every week?
Short memory...

“That’s not good enough”
“We’ve had this before”
“Wieffer come on and caused ownproblems”
“Very few come away with any credit”
“Yes maybe jaded, yes 3 games in a week but…”
“Some harsh words need to be said in that dressing room”
Almost as bad as Attila’s “If” poem.

I don't think it's anything to do with the players not knowing how much this fixture means to the fans. We did well to get back into it after conceding so early and completely dominated the rest of the first 45 but it was a very poor second half performance, especially after Palace went down to 9 men. Only one shot on target in nearly an hour of football.
But all is not lost. 8 th is still on and that would almost certainly mean European football again so lots to play for.
Leicester though really is a must win.
We’ll be heavy favourites to beat Leicester. The crunch test will be Brentford who will offer a similar test to the one we flunked today. Don’t say season defining

The whole ‘they weren’t up for it’ is the laziest tripe you’ll ever ever hear in modern football. Today’s result was nothing to do with being ‘up for it’ or ‘fight’. It was an even match which we didn’t deserve to lose, much like Fulham and Bournemouth didn’t deserve to lose to us. It’s football ffs.
Well said….. we were a bit lucky in those games and then we’ve suffered a bit of misfortune in the past three. All very close games.

What’s important is to keep our standards at a consistent level and aim for 8th, which I think will get a European spot.

Nope. Not this time. Palace weren't good. A draw was the least we could have expected. This current lot are great whenever they face a big team that wants a football match. They have failed again and again when facing any team that wants a fight. The same errors every time. Over commit, lose concentration, leave space in behind. The new anti football types: Forest, Villa, Palace all set up to play for those moments. We know that because teams did it to us repeatedly throughout November and December. Yet despite all the talk of learning and improving we still see the same approach. There is nothing wrong with being pragmatic in these games rather than being the mugs every time. We can do it. We did it away at Newcastle and won 1-0. Aspinall is right to criticise. This wasn't just another game against a tough opponent. This was a grudge game not to lose against a team that has only one way of playing. We let them play the way they wanted. Naïve, weak and unfortunately, typical.
Absolutely agree with this post. We should have just gone long. We have good players up front and it’s a total waste to try the side to side thing on one of the narrowest pitches in the league. We also have a masssive reluctance to “just put it on the box”. Palace’s first and second goals would not have been scored by us. They had a go and scored where we would have yet again been passing it when well placed looking for that perfect goal that doesn’t come very often. I miss Enciso from that point of view. He absolutely would have presented more threat to Palace.

If Palace had a centre half who was willing to show time and space, and play our attackers onside, I’m sure Welbeck would have scored a goal similar to the first. Sadly they didn’t.

This 9 men narrative is getting boring, you had a two man advantage for….6 minutes of which you wasted time for about 4 of these

So not doing the double for 93 years is something to be proud about?
