Not sure what he did wrong today

But once the morons are on the march

On the other hand you could offer what he DID contribute.

Like highlighting him giving Mateta the freedom of the penalty box to turn and shoot?
He did make up for that with an excellent difficult headed clearance that would have ended up in the back of the net if he hadn’t. Not great today but better than most imo

Best days are behind him, but i wouldn’t be too worried if he and Webster played 15 or so games each next season next to a younger CB (hopefully JPVH].
We could do with someone pushing for their place though. Someone better than Igor, and certainly someone better than that little slowcoach from the other night.

without doubt our biggest problem. No leadership in the middle of the park and none really in defence when Dunk plays as the eldest statesman. It ok though we’ve paid Milner £3.6m this season to cheer them on from the stand.
But we’ve got a load of 20 year old attacking midfielders who can a job on the wing so that’ll be fine.

Putting aside his individual performance, our record with and without Dunky this season is starkly different. He’s become something of an omen.

In games we’ve played with Dunky:

7 wins, 8 draws, 8 losses

In games played without Dunky:

10 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses

Coincidence or catalyst?

You’ve got to factor in the difficulty level of each game.

Dunk started in both CP losses (Radio Sussex said the first half of the Amex game could’ve been any score to them), Stains home the worst team in PL history tore us apart second half, Leicester away, the slaughter at Chelsea, Fulham away, Villa at home, the 7-0.

He also played the FA Cup win against Chelsea, both wins against Man Utd and a draw away at Arsenal.

You’ll probably say Man Utd are shit, but how many teams have beaten them twice?

Webster and JPVH are now clearly superior. Age has caught up with Dunk, in a team where our defensive line is 50 yards from goal.

Dunk was one of our better players today. It wasn't a game where our centre halves were tested often
In what way was he one of our better players?

None of his attacking passes came off.
He didn't command the defense.
Slowed the game down, when we needed some intensity.

Genuinely can't think of any of his contributions as being above "meh"
Dunk hasn’t been as bad as the fan narrative suggests, despite falling from his usual levels. I’d still agree we need cover added in the summer.

Played well today and scored the 5th penalty against Forest. Showing bollcoks. Unlike a lot out there today.
including Dunk.

I don’t agree with this. I also need to see a reply of the first Palace goal as Dunk seemed to play him onside by some margin. Had he been quicker in thought and body then we wouldn’t have conceded that goal.
