Glad I tried it. Won’t rush back - too crowded, poor service and too loud (yes, probably an age thing). Will probably go back when the initial novelty wares off. Will be interested to see how they manage it at Palace games
I agree on the too loud thing. And all I did was walk past! But agree it may be an age thing.

Sussex but not by the sea
There are going to be big problems with this place, it’s a matter of time.
It’s ok home & away mixing pre-match to a point (Palace & Chelsea probably not) but post match? No. Even more so if we’ve lost. I’m a VERY mild mannered fan but even I got VERY pissed off tonight when a load of Villa were giving it large after the game in the Terrence with our fluorescent jacketed ‘security’ standing around.

The Swan was absolutely dead again tonight. I think The Terrace is a great addition but I really hope it doesn’t destroy the usual football pubs’ trade. Because it is massively affecting them at the moment.
I will be returning to the Swan.

Was genuinely thinking of going to the Swan tonight but changed my mind at the last minute as I wanted to try it. I'm definitely going to the Swan in the future. The terrace seems to be a young man's game.

It all looks a bit too loud and crowded for my tastes. I've got a ticket for the Brentford beam-back though, so hopefully with more controlled, limited numbers, it might just about be borderline bearable.

I gather more tickets have been released for the Palace one on Saturday, but frankly, I'd rather shatter my jaw on a concrete bollard than watch that game. I'll likely check the result on Sunday morning in the paper, and then try to continue with my weekend.

Matchdays at The Terrace though ? Mmmnah. Don't think its aimed at moany old farts like me.

Same here. I called in again this evening and again it was too chaotic to hang around. The poster who said it’s fine as long as you’re there 3 hours early might be right but if so it’ll stay off-limits for me as I can’t be bothered to do that. Mind you, the Amex lounge might be better. I should try that before writing it off completely.

Hopefully your jaw won’t be too painful on Sunday

I sort of enjoyed the Upper Terrace Clubhouse experience yesterday. It is a very noisy environment, but not over-crowded considering it was at full capacity. Getting drinks was pretty quick with or without using the app or screens to order. Although it was only a few yards away, was totally unaware of Guy Butters interview etc... PA not clear and Sky Sports News on all the TV screens. Food was OK - chicken quite decent, chips rather salty for my taste - but the collection point was chaotic to the point of laughable. Would do it again to meet up with family/friends pre-match, but probably not very often.
