If that was the other way we'd be screaming for a penalty. Hinshelwood a very lucky boy.
Watching it on TV I reckon it was a penalty. We got the benefit of the doubt because the ball may have brushed Jack's shin, but I couldn't see it.
We dodged one.

And JH would probably have been given a second yellow and sent off.

Looked a pretty even half from ESU. We probably had the better of it but felt that maybe should have been a pen against us. Only got one look at it mind, from the opposite corner of the stadium.
Definite penalty imho, thought it was a dive in real time but replay changed my mind.

Decent first half. The better team, with the better chances.

I'm happy with 0-0 though, as for me, the possible Hinsh foul was a DEFINITE penalty and I can't believe that it wasn't given.

I think the only reason it wasn't given is because the foul on Mitoma probably should have been a penalty too.

We're playing decent football, but no real clear cut chances.

Pedro, Gomez, van Hecke and others all having good games.

Keep this up and we should win this - probably going to be a draw though.

Agreed. We were the better team and got away with that penalty, feels like we should be 0-1 down.

But we're not. It's 0-0 and we're playing better than them. And a strong bench to step it up in the 2nd half.

I back us to win it.

Only nervous about Watkins on the bench as he's always scoring against us. Him and Rashford together could do some real damage. Let's hope not.

Would be amazing to nick this 1-0, especially with Pokesdown for Boscombe losing.

We’ve been pretty intense this half and kept Villa penned in for large swathes of the game.

I wish we had Velts on the bench to replace the carded Hinshelwood, and Ayari tends to tire between 60-70 minutes, so may see a change there, but we’ve been decent in a match where I feared we’d be overrun.

We badly need Veltman back.

Decent reason to give neither.
It was inconclusive whether Hinshelwood got a touch on the ball = no pen.

Villa defender’s arm in a natural position when the ball struck it = no pen.

Decent refereeing IMO.
Alright, time to hang up my whistle. If it's inconclusive that a player touches the ball while contacting a player in the box then I would think thats a penalty.

In the stadium it looked mad for Mitoma to dive. He was through.
It looked like he was buying it, he would have felt a touch on his shoulder and back from Cash who was on the wrong side but he went down pretty easily with the splay footed dive as well. Probably would have been given if he played for Liverpool or Man U, one of those!

That's pretty annoying if so. Pedro and him are buggers for it. Diving when playing on is a better option.
