Sussex but not by the sea
I come from Lewes and park at uni, but seriously reconsidering attendance tonight... If they close the A27 both ways, I can't see how anything other than utter gridlock around the stadium for hours after the match will ensue. Surely that can't be right!?
I might be missing something here but..... you drive from Lewes? So park in Lewes and get the train for one stop??!!

yes to put it bluntly.
Whoever said 8 weeks is about right , they have installed metal crash barriers to prevent cars getting in the workspace -- they are bolted down ! -there after the end of the season thats for sure
The roadworks are continuing until the end of June.
It’s drainage works, so it’s likely that it’s happening under ground level - usually why you can’t see anyone.
They have to remove the central reservations to do this too, hence the temp barrier and restrictions on speed/lanes etc.

I think before isn't the main problem. It's after the match that is going to carnage.
Is it? I'd expect it to be the other way around? Traffic will mainly be going away from the Amex after the match, the roadworks are eastbound so from the A23 are towards the Amex. P&R buses getting back to the stadium might get held up but it won't be rush hour by then and match leavers are going the other way.

What’s really annoying is there isn’t a works person to be seen not even plant machinery, it’s a disgrace
Unfortunately in the world of Health and safety it has to be 100% before workers can start , for obvious reasons ....FFS !

Plane gets into Gatwick North Terminal at 6.05pm. No checked luggage, parked in long stay. Parking at Sussex Uni for the game. What are my chances of getting to my seat before half time?
If its the 27 that's shut, can you just go along london road, carden avenue and straight onto coldean lane?

Not once you get past the Patcham turning, pretty solid concrete blocks in place this morning when I came through.

Heads-up, we can see Carden Hill past Asda towards the roundabout that feeds over the A27, traffic is queuing up the hill now, with drivers diverting to avoid the A27 roadworks.
