[Albion] Going to be pretty empty for the Villa game

Thought i would have a look to see % wise which block has the most spaces at the moment and although there are several blocks all around the ground pushing 18% the winner is block E1F where 20% i.e. one in every five seats will be empty.
And that is just the seats that have been put-up for resale. As we know, a lot of people just don't go and don't bother trying to re-sell their seat, particularly if it's a single as they often don't sell.

Brighton factually.....
And let's be honest, Aston Villa just don't get the pulse racing as one of the "must see" teams visiting this season...
I beg to differ, I think on their day their attack is pretty damn good to be honest.
I would rather watch them than quite a few teams in the Premier league right now to be fair.

They just have kind of hoodoo over us.

It does seem a bit random ... but if they are tickets that haven't sold before the exchange opened (as in they are non ST seats), why would they show as concession tickets? Surely it's ST seats originally purchased on a concession basis that have the star?? Just guessing though ...

They aren't 'concession seats' though, they are standard seats that can be bought for any age category.
Whereas listed seats can only be bought as full price tickets.

Sharing tickets is super easy. Takes 30 seconds.

The difficult bit is finding someone to share with though. This is not always easy especially for midweek evening games and this pool of potential recipients wouldn't increase that much if becoming a A+ member was cheaper or free. (they either already are A+ members - there are tens of thousands of them , and/or just don't fancy it for multiple reasons, or are going anyway).

For unattractive (or not United, Arsenal, Liverpool etc) evening games at least.
You say it's super easy, but just about all my friends interested in the Albion have season tickets already. I've got a small number of extra Friends and Family (F&F) such as students away at university who would love to take up a spare but can't make it. I couldn't shift my ticket for either league game I couldn't make this season to F&F or on the ticket exchange. And I was ill for the Forest Cup game and the ticket was not transferable. It's a lot of money down the drain and the club needs to give us better options.

No. But lots do. A traffic or train 'event' that is an inconvenience for local fans, can be a massive, massive headache for them - genuinely to the point of considering whether it is POSSIBLE for them to attend.

We are setting off at 3pm for tonight's game. I'm lucky to be in a job that is flexible enough that I can do that - but I'm well aware many are not.

Brilliant. Give yourself a massive pat on the back.

Not everybody's circumstances are the same as yours (or mine).

- My personal circumstances aren’t the issue here - and I would say they are less favourable than many frankly as I have long distances on public transport and disability to contend with! I don’t put my self through the emotional effort and physical marathon for pats on the back (but thanks anyway, I think 😂) - I do it because I love my Club and that means for me watching them play live at every opportunity I can.

i just can’t envision using bad weather, train delays/road works or not fancying the opposition as excuses for not attending as many games as is physically doable and I think its a reasonable attitude to have to think these are flakey excuses.

No one here is criticising fans who have family/work commitments/illness or financial difficulties for not attending every home game regardless of where people live.

Anyway - sitting here at Cambridge waiting for the train to Brighton and enjoying a coffee. It’s a sunny warm day and I’m looking forward to the match.🙂

Exactly, especially for mid-week matches. My wife can possibly finish at 4, but, being a theatre nurse cannot leave a patient on the table until tomorrow morning, so will not know what time she will finish until she finishes and then have to make the 35 mile journey starting from somewhere with little public transport, without a car, to get to the game. She can usually do it, but certainly would not know yesterday at midday to be able to avoid a PBOBE black mark next season.

OK, gotcha … at least I think I understand now 👍

That must mean that when the exchange opens - because the match is ‘sold out’ - it’s not completely sold out and there are still some random seats available which can be bought as a concession.

I still reckon the ones that have a star are tickets that didn't sell, and that all re-listed tickets are only available as concession
Seems the most likely explanation

Ah, I see.

I have given up on buying anything at half time.

What they need is seats that lift up and dispense your order at half time.

Same seats could then be used to act as toilets for depositing the unique alchemy only the human body can produce during the second half.

Of course, it would all take a lot of cleaning.

(Apologies for the imagery, but I pay a fiver a month and feel entitled to draw these pictures occasionally.)
I’ve lobbied for urinals on the back of seats for a few years now, maybe a secondary rail / tray in the new safe standing / pissing area could be trialled next season?

That's my thinking.
I need a coffee after all that :ROFLMAO:

I then need to get my head around my walk to the Amex. I've decided to go all the way along the coast to the pier and then head north - which makes it appx 11 miles  Leaving home around 3.30pm.

The easterly / north easterly wind is going to be interesting.

Sussex but not by the sea
Here in Mid-Sussex the sky is blue and the sun is shining and has a nice warmth to it, however the wind is strong and is flipping cold. I took the dogs for a walk at lunchtime and regretted wearing shorts!! Seeing as I beleive that the Amex is always 2 or 3 degrees colder than anywhere else in Sussex I'm back to jeans and a jacket tonight!!!

I've just checked and I'll be able to have a lie down at half time.

I'm alright with it. From recent experience the atmosphere doesn't really suffer without the 5k lightweights and the services run better.

Made this mistake against forest. Got sunburnt during the day and didn't dress accordingly at night. Me and my girls were basically all in the same coat trying to stay warm by the end.
