I’ve listed my seats, can’t go, if it was tonight has originally advertised then I could have gone.

You’d think in the year 20XX they would be able to schedule the matches and figure a way not to move them.

(Edit: saved myself of having to write this again over the next 75 years)

I get that though, thats the root cause, people can't be bothered with that, one, so ultimately these 3,000 seats are never going to sell, unless theres a discount, £50 odd a ticket for a midweek game is unappealing, but there doesn't seem to be a budge on ways you could get more people in. Yes the transport is crap, but there are a multitude of other reasons, and these could be changed (unlike the transport).
It's a real shame there is not a way to sell these tickets off cheap. I get the idea that if people knew there would be cheap tickets on the day, they'd hold out for these, but equally 3000 empty seats is not good for anyone. There must be a lot of people out there who would take one if the price was right.

The accounts showed the club's highest-paid director, which is believed to be chief executive Paul Barber, saw his annual salary rise from £2.37million to £3.2million

See last Saturday.

£30.00 a ticket - sold out.

there are some comments above regarding passing of train tickets to someone else- perhaps the best analogy would be a train ticket bought with a rail card - you get a discount if u have a rail card , so lets say you buy a ticket , get the discount, but cant /don't go. You pass it to a friend for the face value but when travelling they get checked and obviously cant produce the photo id to go with the card-

the result would be travelling without a valid ticket- seems a fair cop to me. Would anyone complain that it wasn't fair because the ticket had been paid for? Just because someone else was entitled to the discount due to rail cad-why shouldn't they be able to pass the rail ticket on and the recipient not have to pay full price ?

That seems fairly similar to buying a season ticket, getting the discount and passing it on to someone who doesnt qualify for it.

Rolling stock availabilty :bla:
It absolutely is that though. You could take carriages off commuter trains but then they'd be complaining instead - and they've actually paid for their ticket.

I think there should be an amnesty for both. I don't think there should be a fine for that, and I don't think there should be a difference in price for people. Trains should be run as a net positive for society.

Its a moot point, because more people being on the train doesn't benefit the TOC. More people being in the stadium spending money and cheering on the team has a benefit for the club.

For sure. And like I said up top it appears to be an intractable problem. So people are voting with their feet in increasing numbers. Big ask to fill those seats. Tho must be quite a few local schools who would love the chance to do so, just so long as the kids could be bussed in and bussed out and not subjected to the crappy rail network

Write to your local MP about it because the only people who will change it is government if they decide to disband the ROSCOs. There’s rolling stock available just no one at central government is prepared to solve the problem because their mates get all their money from ROSCOs.

That was everyone trying to get out at the same time. Nobody wanted a beer.

Next time people start moaning about others leaving on 80 minutes they should remember how helpful they are actually being.
I was referring to half time and the pie fest (except there was barely any food).
Regarding the 80 minute departees, folk can thank me later

It doesn't need long queues to dissuade many of those in the WSU from washing their hands after a piss.
The only time i've seen men wash their hands without fail at a football match was that last game (at Molinueux) before Covid in 2020 (MacAllister's debut) . The handwashing was thorough, lengthy and impressive and as it turns out short lived.

I think it is always a nightmare in WSU when trying to pass through the end sections of the concourses to get to the centre, when people there queuing for food and drink. I think somebody from the hierarchy needs to visit pre match to see for themselves. WSU is the forgotten section of the stadium.
Largely forgotten, because the hierarchy as you call them, can't be bothered to exhaust themselves climbing all the stairs.

Maybe it doesn't really matter if there's empty seats. It seems a tab arbitrary that a game has to sell out.

And these magical people who would suddenly attend who haven't already bothered to buy a ticket but would DEFFO go last minute on a school night...? Hmmm.

Edit: christ I've phrased that poorly

More and more people are voting with their feet re midweek matches now. Such a shame because its a great atmosphere under the lights. But the shitty midweek transport infrastructure just can't cope with the numbers, and it would appear that it's an intractable problem. Booooooo...
I’m afraid you’re right. For most evening games I have a good friend who will do the driving from Southampton to Brighton which certainly takes out the stress of getting back home. Even so it’s a rarity to be home before midnight as the trains from Falmer to Brighton could take the best part of an hour from the final whistle because of the queues and poor scheduling - same as it ever was.

I definitely agree club can do more to fill empty seats, but it’s cost/benefit and cost is king in that equation by looks of so empty they must be.
Maybe the club could come up with something similar to the 3 Match Ticket for our home games in the Europa League. Pay a reduced rate for all three fixtures as an incentive to attend all the games rather than pay considerably more for each match individually.

That's the thing isn't it.: You've got 4000 match-by-match fans that have paid full price up front so that the game nominally sells out a few days in advance. You can't then reward those that buy at the last minute by offering a discount. You'd never get a sell out again.
