Don't think Forest gained much from Nuno saying 'Right lads, gather round and listen... Do the same thing we've been doing in every match since August.'
I wasn’t talking about our game in particular but generalising.
It’s disrespectful to the Muslim players that a religious act is used for even the smallest gain.

In my mind it’s something the ref would have announced rather than something we would declared over the tannoy - maybe there could have been a note about it in the program but I’m not sure it would have been noticed by most in the ground.
The club has multiple communication channels that are far more effective and wide-reaching than a note in the program. Pre-match emails, social media accounts, screens on the concourses, big screens at either end of the ground etc etc. Nah, they just dropped the ball on this one, sadly

Sorry, disagree. Why leave probably in excess of 90% of those in the stadium completely blindsided by what looked for all the world like some weird 5 minute drinks break barely 10 minutes into the second half when the players had barely had time to break sweat? The club is normally top-notch at communication, but sadly on this occasion they failed abysmally
The club failed abysmally? Seems a bit of an over reaction to me.

I honestly would have thought more would have been aware of what was happening. It's not like there's been a media blackout about Ramadan ... and it happens ever year (at different times of the year as it follows the Islamic calendar which is lunar and usually nudges forwards 10-12 days each year). It gets covered on the news and in social media. Most MPs of all parties will be commenting on it ... particularly at the start ... e.g.

... and the end (which means that no more football matches will have these interruptions that 90% of people are oblivious to).

It's not the first time it's happened (I'm sure we had this in a major tournament in recent years) ... and it happened in game I was watching on TV a week or so ago. Hopefully those that weren't aware of the implications before will take this opportunity to educate themselves.

Changing countries wouldn't normally change an individual's religious belief or conformance.
That's the point. If you change countries because you can more easily practise your religion in the new country, then you haven't changed your belief.

I wouldn't say so. Christmas is a religious holiday, but I doubt many Christians feel disrespected if non-Christians have a party in the free time. Same for Ramadan breaks and team talks.

Seems to me that the club (unintentionally) disrespected 90% of those in the stadium by keeping them totally uninformed as to the reason for the 5 minute stoppage.

Maybe they just got collective loss of focus due to the distractions of the opening of that damn silly fanzone thing

OK, I think you've made your point (many times) ... which I totally disagree with.

Completely different, on Saturday the Muslim players were on one knee and praying whilst the team talk was going on around them . Not quite the same as having a party during a holiday period is it?

So it’s only Muslims who get a drink is it ?
One rule for one innit. If you say you’re Chris

Amazing to be so judgemental about something you appear to know nothing about. Does it harm you in anyway? Doubt it.
It should never bother anyone but I think we can have a laugh at them just as much as we laugh at Christian’s. They’re all nutters.

Anyone remember Mike Tiddy who played for the Albion in the late 50s to early 60s. He was some kind of preacher (Christian) and wouldn't play on Good Fridays because of his religious beliefs. We used to have Good Friday games back then.

That's what prayer is for.
