Pretty certain I could have claimed the same pint of Harvey's as often as I'd liked
…and then have that game inflicted on you. You certainly like to suffer.

When we saw the size of the collection point compared to the bar area - we thought it must be April the 1st !!! What an absolute nightmare, and then add in the benches being located right next to it, were the planners joking

Overall - gorgeous building and facilities but poorly executed, so probably won't bother going again on a matchday unless closest benches removed and collection point expanded
Going to be bloody freezing in there on a cold day in January.

There's room for both this and what was Dick's Bar. I'd prefer to be in a nice warm carpeted bar than the Disneyesque Terrace (although I understand who that is aimed at.)

Indeed. Cold enough on Saturday after the game. Wonder if they can put some heaters in...

Napalm bomb levels of brightness after the game. My retinas are still burning.

I couldn't use Dicks bar as no under u18s on a match day. This at least has more ability to support parents with older kids. I enjoyed it Saturday as I've mentioned previously. I ordered food and one round on the app and used the bar for the rest of my drink orders

It won't be my regular haunt. On days when I will be heading through town to a match then the caxton will be my 1st choice (some friends of ours who had never been there before, went on Saturday with 4 kids between 11 and 18 and have been having about the pub ever since). But i think maybe 20% of the time I can see myself there especially if meeting friends who aren't in the same stand for matches

The mobile ordering is a fantastic idea, it is the future and could be rolled out to the stands. From the stories on Saturday I think the club should have gone all in with no bar and one big collection point.

There needs to be some contingency for those who are unable to order electronically for whatever reason.

It almost sounds like The Terrace needs to swap around the regular bar and collection point, so the collection point is far larger than the regular bar.

The club heavily pushed people towards app ordering ahead of Saturday, but it sounds like the actual collection setup didn't have the required scale to deal with the high volume during peak times.

The club has to have a plan for when the weather’s miserable and cold, surely? We walked in and straight back out post-match as it just wasn’t pleasant.

There’s no way it’ll stem the tide of train queues on cold evenings or in the winter months. If anything, it’ll be worse than when Dick’s was an option - if nothing else it was warm.

Probably a stupid question but does the Amex space upstairs have its own bar/food service points? Ta

Anyway... if the club want us to order digitally they need to make the 'collection point' bigger & the 'bar' smaller, the 'bar' serving area was pretty much empty as we were all waiting in a 'queue' for our digital orders. If I hadn't have paid when I was outside I would've just gone to the 'bar'. I don't know what it was supposed to be like but I had the impression that our 'number' would appear on a screen inside & then we could collect our order, like Argos. 😁
Totally agree. Unfortunately, it was so congested I couldn’t see the other area so didn’t know whether it was just for food and couldn’t tell what the queues were like. Similarly, i think there were beer stalls in among the throng but they were just swallowed up in the general melee. Along with some tweaks, familiarity will improve things I suppose.

I have a suspicion that whatever the original design was it was compromised to have the exclusive lounge.
More constructive thoughts.

Toilets outside the stadium are in high demand. Not many urinals in the terrace, not well signed, queuing is through already v congested territory.
Most of the plumbing is there, just put up a separate toilet block outside, could also then potentially lose some bogs from the inside for more bar space.

Collection. Oddly central, who are we forcing a queue into the middle?
Obviously needs order numbers displayed. On busy days a big portion of it's output is going to be for outside.
Move it to edge of structure. Display numbers prominently. Have serving hatch to outside as well as inside.

Food means seats and tables. As most of these are now only for amex holding early arrivals to escape the crowd and nurse a white wine at more are needed.
Fortunately a big stack of those pub outside bench table combos is easy to come by. You could even put those massive umbrellas in them.

No. And it felt only slightly warmer in there than outside - but you were at least shielded from that bitter wind. I guess they're still working that out - the shutter protocols !
Guess it was probably quite an instructive exercise on Saturday seeing as how it was a little bit of Summer and a little bit of Winter all rolled into one 😎🥶

I said ages ago I didn’t think the area was big enough for the benches, I think on a matchday remove them

While that is absolutely sensible, it will mean they don't sell any 16 quid burgers, I don't see how you can eat without getting a seat.

Really not sure about the downstairs layout, there was no real room to queue, let alone collect. When you got served, nowhere to go other than struggle to get your pints past the masses without getting a nudge and spilling it. What Boxpark has that the Terrace doesn't is space. Needs some sort of one way system I think but not sure people will follow that when pissed up.

They also need to think about the club shop queue when that comes into the mix, as it's only going to add to the pinch point. Maybe with 2 floors it won't need a queue so much.
As I thought it would all collide including the walking your drink back to wandering for a table that doesn't exist. Im amazed I read somewhere it can accommodate 1,000 then I read it can accommodate 3,000 in better weather, what's that all about? does that mean they will remove benches or some or the extra 2,000 are lurking outside creating and even bigger bottle neck? Im tempted to say its not thought through but actually it most likely is in so far as grab as much money off fans as you can with little regard to service. Ive heard some fans say they never received their pre-ordered drinks and gave up attempting to purchase them. Sure some will not return but we have such a captive audience he club know just like selling seats others will fill their space. I really hope it all gets sorted but doubt it can because of mostly the lack of space design and too many people trying to access it. Yes its new but I dont see how it will have less demand for future matches.

Indeed, the bitter wind only felt less severe once a few more punters rolled in AND a few drinks had been taken,
