Winning the FAC gets you into the Europa League. We will not qualify for that via our league placings.

Not a lot to shout about, the performance was poor , the match was awfulAbsolutely baffled by the post above suggesting it was in the top 10 atmosphere at the Amex. When you can hear an entire away end singing "is this a library" it tells you all you need to know.
North Stand was pretty good but only had about 5 songs, was quiet in East Upper, couldn't hear anything from West Stand either.
But at least we would of had a chance, now we have no chance ,or out of 6 of games against those we've lost only once!!
Imagine how you’d feel if we’d got through and faced Palace in the semi or the final and lost….that is the one positive I’m taking from last nightBut at least we would of had a chance, now we have no chance ,
I agree. We're a reactive crowd and there was absolutely nothing to react to for the first 105 minutes. Perplexed by comments raving about the atmosphere. Not a lot to shout about, the performance was poor , the match was awful
Might as well just give up and think about cricket or support another team if the realistic chance of getting into Europe no longer excites you. Having said that, when we drop into the Championship I reckon we’ll lose 50% at least of season ticket holders. Remember we struggled to fill Withdean after the novelty wore offJust to add a bit more positivity to this thread, I had a look at our run in after the dissapointment of losing to Man Utd at Wembley in 2023. Coincidentally it was also 9 games, but very congested and over only 5 weeks - a really tough run with 5 against top-half teams and the midweek games seemed to really take their toll. This year in our 9-game run in, we've only got 3 top-half teams to play (as the table stands).
We can definitely do this.

It is a Brighton “thing”, there are plenty of other things to fill your time in Sussex once glory hunting fades
Our support fell through the floor the last time we were relegated from the top tier

Other than Palace and Reading I can’t remember it being as many as we lostSo did every other club , crowds were down everywhere
Which side are we thrashing 6-0 thenJust to add a bit more positivity to this thread, I had a look at our run in after the dissapointment of losing to Man Utd at Wembley in 2023. I agree, my point was against the negative spin that Dwayne had put on the statistics! But at least we would of had a chance, now we have no chance ,
I don't think it'd drop off that much. We still had over 18K renew in 2015 following the Sami season when we were almost relegated to League 1!Might as well just give up and think about cricket or support another team if the realistic chance of getting into Europe no longer excites you. I agree with this. However I also find myself remembering that game in early 2022 when the Villa coach got held up in traffic causing them to arrive so late that KO was delayed by 30 mins, but they still cruised to a 2-0 win where.I hear what you're saying. But we'll expect Preston to bring the physicality today - Villa will know that they've been in a battle regardless of the outcome.
An extra day's recovery and home advantage again with Villa having to travel away twice might even the playing field.
I'm confident we can do the job on Wednesday.
You'll have to wait until next Saturday.Which side are we thrashing 6-0 then![]()
Utter rot.Well...I can't lift myself for Wednesday. If the players can't lift themselves for the biggest game of the season so far why get excited about the visit of Villa. This club needs a domestic trophy for identity. We are getting ourselves into challenging positions and then not taking advantage. Winning the FAC gets you into the Europa League. We will not qualify for that via our league placings.
This was our chance in the Cup. We blew it. Sure...we dust ourselves down like always but ' get the Amex rocking'...why wasn't it rocking last night? The fans mirrored the players...nervous..edgy and flat. Everyone had an off night.
Younger fans see it as a missed opportunity but there will be more. Older fans know we have to grab those chances when they come. We won't always be riding high like now. Football changes.
Ask Newcastle if Europe is more important than a domestic trophy. 300,000 out on the streets yesterday gives you the answer. After 124 years of nothing...I want something....and I'm worried our friends from SE19 are going to beat us to it.
Ayari was fasting too, but you're being too generous. There's a bunch of bad losers that then offer some cod analysis.People seem to forget that Pedro, Gomez and Mitoma have very long flights back from their respective matches. Gomez having played in the early hours of Wed. Baleba also had a reasonably long flight as did Minteh and Adingra. It doesn't help his fitness but Minteh was also fasting during the day. For Forest, I think only Murillo had a long flight, Aina less so.
