Went in, will not rush back. Who designed the location of the bars hasn't got a clue. Having designed bars at sports grounds including Brentford and Man City I confirm, to create an issue where the majority of the space is taken up within the premises by people waiting for their chance to wave their purchase confirmation at someone behind the bar is utter carnage.

For all its teething troubles, it’s a welcome addition. It just needs another one built the other side of the ground. Is there any space where it could go, was generally surprised how much was made of a relatively small area

Given the couple of fights people saw today do you think the Club will reconsider the early opening time? Early opening and selling Jäegermeister etc isn't exactly discouraging drinking. It’s an offence to be drunk at a football match - how drunk you have to be I don’t know but on the one hand the club want to be family friendly and the next they’re going full on pub experience.
was this presumably between Albion fans?

It has a lot of potential & today had a lot of teething problems. My order is still not ready to collect, the collection point at 3.30pm was rammed. There was nothing to say that my order was ready it just 'hung' on a minute. I went there as it said go to collection point at 3.30pm. I was in a queue & I got my order at 3.50pm. Not due to any notification, just that I got to the front of the queue. I could hear people around me saying they just went to the bar & it was quicker.

An hour post match was great though @jackalbion was talking, we couldn't hear a word he was saying in the peasant bar (which wasn't great as I wanted to hear him), but we could just go to the bar & buy a drink without the app. Post match we went from NS concourse to outside, back into concourse as it was bloody chilly, then to the Terrace.

Some weird Hungarian guy with glasses (he said he was Hungarian) would not leave us alone, we did the friendly chat & then he did nothing but focus on my son. I eventually told him to f**k off. He kept coming back, I eventually went over to a steward to ask him to tell him to f*ck off, the steward did & then he came back. The steward escorted him away him to somewhere further. I don't know where he went after that but I changed my usual route through the woods to roadside to get to the Ruby & call a cab. only to see him there lurking. The staff at the Ruby were great to make sure we were in a cab safely. Absolutely nothing to do with the 'Terrace' but I've never felt so unsafe at a match.

Meh & I couldn't stand in N1D but it was good to spend time with family. 🙂

Probably not helped by people working out you could go back to the bar & show the same order & get your drinks again!
I'm saving my order for the next match. (y) No I'm not, it was just one of the things I noticed in my 20 min queue.

There were 4 or 5 what looked like 11 year old lads giving it large to the forest fans as they walked past the terrace after the game. Shat themselves when a few geezers turned and faced them😁
I wonder if that was the same yoof firm who were making a nuisance of themselves near the Albert until confronted by a) one bouncer b) the bouncer’s friend, a regular drinker c) some foreign students and d) some Forest fans. They were very, very funny.

And that’s exactly why I’ll stay supporting the small local pub landlords. I’m sure they’ve come to rely on match day income but, also, I can’t remember the last time something amusing happened while queuing up to collect something from a serving window.

I'll just mention that upstairs was rather good, after a little queuing and being let in in batches of 5 or 6. Band playing, enough seats, a free drink for card holders. Since retirement I just have the most basic Amex blue charge card, it's nothing special, but was glad of it yesterday. Also 10% off for paying with the card, so two pints of Harveys for £5.04 total.

As soon as they started building it , I thought the position looks poor . Arguably could present crowd control danger as it makes the route from tne station to the East Stand very narrow.

Having finished my own tinnies I had a go at ordering on the app (had gone through the lengthy rigmarole of setting it up much earlier) and it didn't work.
Nice happy to help lady confirmed that it was indeed f***ed and not just me. The three staff at the collection point were having a nice chat and doing nothing while the actual bar heaved.
Still the queue for the bog turned out to be much smaller than that in the east stand later.

3 of us off the train at 4.30 and walked straight into the terrace, flashed my Amex card and we went straight upstairs with virtually no queuing.
Free drink voucher, got served in 2 mins and we had plenty of time to drink our beer before the ko leaning on the balcony watching the big screens.
Didn’t even expect to get in at that time, let alone upstairs and get served so quickly on opening day so I say Uncle Tony has smashed it again 👏
Yet, we still have the usual moaners I see 👍

It sounds like upstairs very good, plenty of seating free drinks, downstairs very bad, overcrowded, nightmare getting drinks.

Got there just after 2, stayed downstairs 'til about 4.30. Then went in the downstairs afterwards for 1 drink and then upstairs til about 10.

Bad points:

Downstairs too open to the wind.

Chaos ordering system.

Too many people in there leading to constantly being barged into.

Toilets too small.

Mates ordered food that arrived very late and was cold.

The music being interrupted and having to listen to people talk about the game. The only one who said anything insightful was the girl.

There were a load of pints just sat on the bar upstairs for ages, think people soon cottoned on and started swiping them.

Good points:

Upstairs was more sheltered from the wind so I was able to avoid hypothermia, also had a lot more room.

The chicken katsu at £10 was absolutely delicious and good value, was the highlight of my day.

Mates were given their cold food for free.

Screens are nice, can see the outside area being used for world cup football screening.
