He’s going to be a great keeper but he’s way more replaceable than some other players (Baleba, JPVH, Mitoma for starters) and I don’t think we’d stand in the way of a young player moving to Barcelona or Bayern. Really don’t think it would be a huge loss and anything over 60million is pretty nuts for a GK in the current climate.

You’ve just described Bart
Nonsense. Bart is more than good enough for us, a team pushing for Europe in the top half of the PL. Beadle isn’t, yet, with his limited experience in a lower division and a fair number of mistakes playing against second tier players, rather than the some of the best in the world.

I didn’t say Bart wasn’t good enough.

I meant the “young player who makes
great saves but is error prone” part which was the majority of your post.

Bart had very little experience when we signed him.

I like Bart but 60m looks good, I’d be very happy to pinch Hermansen from Leicester when they go down. I suspect he’s Chelsea bound though.

I doubt they are going to pay £60 m. The article just says he's £60 m rated - assume that's rated by Bloom. Wouldn't that price make him the third most expensive keeper ever, and more than Barca have spent on all transfers in the past year. The reality is that they will probably lowball us with a £25 m offer come Summer and try to unsettle Verbruggen / get him to agitate for a move.

If that price being suggested makes it easier to keep one/any/all of Mitoma, Pedro, Van Hecke or Baleba, then I would consider it good (albeit not ideal) business.

I would love to go into next season with an unchanged squad (perhaps a new CB), but I don’t think it will happen.

Some decent shot stopping today but have not been convinced at all for a few games now on his ability to command the box. Seem to freeze and stay on his line for crosses and we were lucky to not concede. Confidence maybe but needs work.

Agree with Han Solo who mentioned it somewhere today. He's frequently a bit of a nightmare with high balls into the box. Seems to have some mental block, should have dealt with another few today and nearly put JpVH in the shit busy not coming for a bouncing through ball that had 'just deal with it keeper' written all over it.

He gets a total pass for the pennos for me as its a thankless thing. Their keeper saved two soft penalties.

He could be great, but currently he's 'quite good'

There was an awkward bounce around the penalty spot in the second half and they pretty much had a 1 on 1 and he looked like he just froze on the line.

Not going to slate him on penalties but just an observation / worry!

Hes done it on many occassions. He's dead young so hopefully it can be coached. His propensity to punch, catchable balls in the air also grates.

I feel mean now, as he's obviously quality but I think most people have noticed it.

Blaming any goalkeeper in a shootout is pretty pointless really. Every one should go in. It’s a bonus if they don’t.
Fans need a scapegoat. It’s all the same posters who do this whenever we lose, because they’re a mixture of WUM’s, man-babies and blokes upset that we lost (and usually quite drunk).

Most will have disappeared again come Monday morning after sobering up.
