I would like to see the world taking a stand against the USA and refusing to play football there. If they want isolation, let's give it to them.

The US hasn't yet done as much as many others. The world cup was in Russia after they annexed Crimea.
True, should have done it then too.

Football has the power to make the world better, it chooses not to use that power.

A very reactionary, unplanned or well thought out idea in my head.

If the Septics want isolationism, let’s give it to them. I realise that the US economy is actually bigger than that of the EU (much to my surprise) but it ain’t bigger than the rest of the world. Let’s all just match Trump tariff for tariff. It will hurt some businesses but it will mostly be be big corporates and multi nationals who can revise their business models and hopefully muddle through. The Yanks buy mostly their own produced goods, commercial information sharing dries up to them, the rest of the world continues to trade with each other. The UseLessEh? slips further and further back into its own Stone Age by comparison. Fxxk ‘em.

Exactly. I thought much the same earlier. It's a dire turn of events.

Mad to think that within two months the States have managed to make a very significant percentage of the world despise everything about the country (I cannot stand anything about the USA and its arrogant, brash, ignorant population at the moment, despite knowing that approx. half the country is hating what is going on) whilst simultaneously making an absolute mockery of themselves to the likes of Russia and China, who will be absolutely loving what's going on. What an achievement 🤦‍♂️

It seems james david vance has ramped up the rhetoric overnight. Some respected US experts on X pointing out that there might genuinely be attacks on Greenland's patrol boats....some are questioning how ordinary US citizens will feel to see the US killing former European allies...this is insane.

Attacks by whom? The US? Surely not. The spin from where I see it is that there is a load of bollocks about Russia and Chinese vessels eyeing it up and Trump is basically saying he's gonna get it first for world security, when frankly he wants it for strategic advantage, their vast natural resources, and to expand the USs reach.
It's a nonsense that Russia would do much, well before, in respect of Greenland due to article 5. If it's really a risk then it's only become one in the last 2 months.
It's an interesting and worrying one, Trump seems set on Greenland, just depends on how he tries to get it, and how far he will go. I don't think Nato countries taking other Nato countries was part of the treaty, and it will be interesting to see what EU. Canada, and of course Denmark do about it should anything happen
