My Money still on the disused Rugby pitch at Brighton uni. Opposite the Terrace!

Do you mean the ULTIMATE FRISBEE pitch?

"We're really excited and it's something we're really committed to delivering. We've always said we wanted to be as close to the Amex as possible.
"Logistically that means we can share resources there like groundstaff, machinery and equipment for example. It will be closer to the Amex than Brighton's city centre."

That's the plan I believe!

When I was at Sussex, the only time that field was used was for varsity games. No reason that the club can't lease out the stadium for those and no reason Ultimate Frisbee can't move to the top of the hill.

"Barber said WSL clubs "understand" they will endure financial losses for a period of time as they invest in women's football but added that they must look to make it sustainable.

"The most important thing is that we are investing in the right things to turn around that position in the not-so-distant future because we can't just run women's football clubs at a loss forever," he added."

Barber yet again playing the "we're so charitable to run a women's team" bullshit.
In the men's game it is completely acceptable that 90% of the clubs can run men's clubs with a loss forever (most owners want to be able to lose more money) because the players need multiple Cadillacs and whatnot. But subsidising women so they can make a living from playing? Nah... can't have that going on forever.

Very similar to a few months ago when he said the club might need to shut down the women's team due to the costs of the Independent Football Regulator. Lol. Pretty sure someone like James Milner earns as much as the entire women's team. Maybe thats where you could start the cost cutting...

Maybe one way to increase interest is to make sure that millionaire tonedeaf male CEOs in their late 50s leave at least the communcation to someone better suited.

Great with a new stadium though. That part I'm sure they'll sort out in a good way.

I don't usually side with Barber's comms, but that is at least fairly consistent to his stance with Albion (men) needing to be sustainable?

Agree with your wider point though

Yes, which is fair. But generally speaking, clubs are more than willing to make losses... just apparently preferably giving another mansion to some recently promoted academy player rather than feeding women.

So I wonder what this mini-stadium will look like?

It needs a minimum of 1,950 seats to meet requirements I believe - but we will obviously want the overall capacity to be greater than that, which suggests maybe one seated stand, and two or more safe standing stands/areas.

Knowing the club, they will be a bit more ambitious than the bare minimum, and it will be moderately impressive for a WSL ground.

"Clubs will be asked to discuss and vote on any proposals at their quarterly shareholders meetings - one possible change would be the temporary scrapping of relegation from the Women's Super League."

Hope that is after Palace have been relegated.

Isn't the plan for a 10,000 seater stadia

I wonder if it will also have a public (non 1901) bar or two, or whether they would use the Terrace? Thinking it may be an opportunity to add additional match-day food and beverage facilities for the men's stadium (or the long mooted hotel...)
