Not quite the same age (44) but yes very excited. I have myself half convinced that we’re going to get 5th. I know that realistically any European qualification would be an incredible achievement and 5th is probably out of reach, but then I start thinking why not.
Hence your user name - and indeed, why not?

Brighton
It's that time of year now where the run in for our beloved Brighton (and the potential for glory) is making me nervy but excited in equal measure. I'm 58 and football and our club is still always on my mind. City tomorrow and although I normally expect us to get beat I'm so hoping for a glorious win to keep momentum going. Is it just me or anyone else my age group getting nervy but hopeful in equal measure?
It's not even that it's last game and Europe depends on it, we've still got plenty of games after! We've had massive wins against Chelsea Bournemouth Newcastle Saints and Fulham yet this City game seems another level. 1 game at a time still with Villa Forest Palace to come after the break but getting something at City(even a point) will be huge for me🤞
Same here.

Top 8 should be Europe - didn’t seem likely 6 weeks ago. What we’ve done since is awesome regardless of todays very tough game.

I’m not worried about Man City but am worried about Forest. The best we’ve done so far is a draw and obviously they thrashed us.
Maybe we can beat them but their confidence must be high.

Edit to add, we must get something at Selhurst Park as there’s no way we should let them do the double over us!
They’ve won 1 game normally in 6 since that lucky day - although 2 shootout wins. Shame it was last week v Man City mind.

Sorry to bounce this(well, I'm not really)🙂but the hope, nervousness and excitement has kicked in since middle of last week. My partner is out tomorrow night at a pre arranged birthday gift with 1 of her friends who has done her back in this week. My partner said "if Jacqueline can't come then maybe you will?", although a night about the story of Reggae isn't my thing. My answer was simply "no chance, you know I'll be watching the Brighton boy's". She said it in a little jest and also replied, "you know I'll have the score come up on my phone when I'm out with Jacqueline don't you". She's not a football nut like me but she loves going to live games being an adopted Brighton fan but she doesn't follow every single game via TV radio apps etc etc.
She'll know how we do and she'll know I'll be bouncing happy when she gets home tomorrow night if we've won!

I'm excited, but not nervous. If our December/January form had continued, I would have been - then the season could have died with this game and we'd have two month long "who gives a shit"-journey to the goal line.

As it stands: win or lose against Nottingham, we still have a bunch of other "cup quarter final-magnitude" games to play.

Definitely winnable and our lads will be out for revenge. I'm quietly confident but still a bit nervous.

I'll be honest - it couldn't have gone any worse, could it?
It wouldn’t have been so bad if we had lost 1-0 to Forest in normal time, given the fatigue and injuries we suffered. One goal scored and 5 conceded isn’t good.

It's the hope that kills you.....I wanted so much to beat Forest. Maybe too much...and maybe it got to the players as well. It was within reach. That dream. So close. Villa came too soon. Tired minds and legs. Never mind...put it right at Selhurst. Another body blow. Poor performance getting what it deserved. Players dropping like nine pins now and it feels like the wind is going out of our sails.
We need a bounce back. Let's hope its v Leicester.
