I guess no lessons learned after all :)
Why am I supposed to "learn lessons" that no one else follows?

If you want to learn not to make assumptions, then do it. I'm personally not interested in that and will going to keep speculating.

Possibly the main lesson to learn is that NSC has a direct message function.

Any injury (or preferably lack of) news from a press conference would be gratefully received.

Apologies for cross-posting but as noted in his dedicated thread, O'Riley has been in training and according to the Athletic "used the international break for rest and a full recovery from bone bruising to the right knee, sustained in the 2-0 win at Ipswich Town in the Premier League in mid-January."

Nearly three months for bone bruising?

Its a little bit longer than usual but difficult to ignore as a footballer, can be very bad for the cartiledge in the knee even if it is indeed possible to play through the pain.

When you see players back training with the first team it means that they are close to being match ready. If that injury meant MOR couldn't train for a few weeks then it takes him probably the same again to get back up to that level of fitness.

We played nine games in the Premier League and Europa League between 25 November and the end of December in 2023. Earlier that season we played Villa away, Marseille away and Liverpool at home in 8 days. We played 50 games in total, probably for the first time since we were a Championship team.

Why on earth would you train over intensely with that schedule? After four of those games we were also flying home overnight.

Dunno, you tell me why you thought that yourself?

Any team that presses a lot train very hard, which is most of them these days. Klopp’s Liverpool looked knackered last season but have a chance of the title this season. Newcastle have had more injuries than us this season. It’s not unique to RDZ.

Our hench physios and club doctor seem to have disappeared though. Bit of an elephant in the room that one,

I said "any team that presses a lot" which we certainly weren't doing when I wrote that in April 2024.

Thanks for confirming you have no idea why you thought what you posted though.

Yeah, thats probably how you meant it... I'm absolutely buying that a 100%

Now do this one:

I think it’s the other way round to an extent.

Someone on here drew a parallel with Bielsa’s Leeds and there’s some merit in it. We’re attack first, we’ve used man to man in the past and we train very hard. Bielsa came apart when people worked out his primary tactics and his training methods started to yield injuries.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see Georginio again this season. It also looks like Lamptey and Veltman may miss all the remaining games.

Did Webster pull his hamstring or was it just cramp?

Wieffer also injured again, we'll see how long it takes this time.

99.9% it was a hamstring for Webster, he was feeling around that area when he was sitting.

Starting to get down to the bare bones again
Makes me fear that our season will fizzle out, and we'll miss out on a European place, finishing mid-table.

Incidentally what are the odds that the two big injuries from last night happened to two of the very few players who weren't away on international duty?

With our medical record, odds on.

Pathetic really. Weiffer injured again, wtf. Presumably Solly is as well or he'd have been on the bench.

I am not sure if Cashin has ever played fullback but our cover in those positions looks grim right now.
