Another game, another win, another clean sheet.

Could've been 5 or 6 at the end with some better finishing, but England dominated possession again and did what they needed to do.

Yeah but it’s England, so;

“It was dreadful - we obviously should win the World Cup at a stroll but won’t at this rate. Tuchel OUT.”

Not a classic obvs, but these games never are. Its all about getting the job done, which we comfortably did.

What I would say is that there is a noticeable attempt to up the tempo, and move the ball around a bit more quickly. Compared with the stultifyingly dull slo-mo backpass tactics of last years Euros, I find this encouraging. Tuchel was spot-on about us playing with fear last summer. If he makes us bolder, and swifter, then thats half the battle already.

It'll still all unravel when we get to the vinegar strokes next year, and face someone decent. Thats a given. But hopefully we're not going to die on our arses again like the last couple of Finals.

The Albion winger remained at the team hotel today and missed training ahead of the home game with Saudi Arabia in Saitama.

Mitoma was reported by Japanese media, who were allowed into the first 15 minutes of the session, to have missed the session due “to poor condition” and instead recuperated at the hotel.

However he trained on Sunday and the hope will be Japan are simply taking no risks with a key man for club and country.

That's all well and good but it won't win us a tournament. If you think gung-ho, quick front-to back is going to make us world beaters, think again. We'll just back to the bad old England - tactically naive and predictable. Nothing from those 2 games tells me Tuchel brings anything new. Case in point - Bellingham is arguably our best player, yet still looks a shadow of the player at Real. If Tuchel really brought something new and fresh, he would be a different player, like the shackles have been released. But no, it's the same old.

Tuchel brings nothing, didly squat, and we will only go backwards

He set up the first goal on Friday with an inch-perfect pass through the defence to Lewis-Skelly. You're going to need a bigger case. :lolol:

Admittedly not his best game last night, but then he's probably still getting used to the novelty of a national coach who understands attacking tactics.

Sorry if already covered elsewhere but can't find it - I can see he played minutes in both matches but does anyone know how Jack got on in the U21s games?

So he's not used to playing attacking football at Real?

I went last night to the U21 match. Jack played 60 minutes on the right of midfield, wasted there really. He will be fine for the weekend given that he had perhaps 15 touches of the ball which were mainly just short passes and a couple of one-twos with his team mates, a bit of jogging around and maybe two tackles. It was all pretty low intensity stuff.

Beadle played the first half and looked pretty assured on the whole, he made a couple of decent stops and his distribution was ok (although he fudged a couple of passes). He was certainly more involved than Jack.

Enjoyable game, I liked the interaction between the majority WBA fans and Wolves player Fabio Silva (who was the best player on the pitch in my opinion).

Ayari starts against Northern Ireland, having come off the bench against Luxembourg.

McConville, formerly of the Albion, starts for Northern Ireland.
Isak playing though. No idea why we're playing him in a friendly against Northern Ireland. To investigate if he's good enough for Sweden..?
