An attack? Am I missing something? ???
No not at all, as a precaution part of the investigation of the fire will include officers from CTU

The force said there was "currently no indication of foul play" but officers were retaining an "open mind at this time" into the cause of the blaze.

My gut says an attack from Russia, head says it's a genuine fault and the findings mean we need better dependancy on our other sources of energy in the even this happens again.
Not the Russian MO really is it? A cyber attack maybe, but physically blowing something up? Nah, way to much risk of it coming back to bite them on the arse.

What about all these cuts of undersea internet cables recently? Or a Russian piloted ship being driven into another one off the coast of the UK?

Or the poisonings…

Knowing how often back up generators fail, I can see that this sort of thing is easily possible.

None of those examples include blowing up important infrastructure in a nuclear armed, key member of NATO though do they?

If (and it’s a big if) sabotage is to blame, it’s more likely to be some middle class climate activists. In my opinion anyway.

Being in the aviation business the impact thus far will have significant knock on effects for days. Planes will be all over the place, crews out of place and rosters buggered. ATC will be performing some extraordinary scheduling / planning to get this mess sorted and that’s if power can be restored today.

Only 3 planes left in the sky en route to Heathrow, where do we think BA Yokyo-Heathrow currently over Greenland will be diverted to?
Yokyo? Maybe it will divert to Eggs-eter?

Didn't this happen in France during the Olympics? The railway network was down or something. Russian sabotage suspected?

I understand what you are saying, but CTU aren't just involved, they're leading the investigation.

Although I suppose that could be the case whenever they are involved?

Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if this was Putin's work.

Amsterdam and Frankfurt have been taking diversions.
Many BA flights were diverted to Manchester and Glasgow as well. I saw some of the US ones got diverted back to other places in the US while at least one from South America ended up in Madrid.

Can only speak for where I worked, where there is a 24 hour line available as most of our business was in The USA and the Far East so time zone differences make that essential. I am talking about IATA business travel agencies not high street package holiday agencies.

and yes BA is a cunty airline for customer service and support in stressful situations. Arrogant and totally lacking in empathy for distressed passengers.

All good points and BA will only rebook on cancellation of flights automatically, if they bother to rebook at all, in the booking class in which the booking was made, rather than in any class that is within the class of travel. Most punters are not aware that there are up to six or seven booking classes within economy and four or five within business class. A travel agent will rebook in the lowest booking class available which can end up as full Y or C class. In short you have a better chance of getting on the first available flight if booked through a travel agent than you will online or through the airline themselves. Travel Agent is the way to go if you are happy to pay a little more and be guaranteed a professional service in times of problems and disasters, which are getting more and more common.

So speaks an ex travel agent
I'm not sure when you last dealt with BA but they automatically rebook into any fare class within the cabin.
