I share many of @1066familyman 's tastes on Radio 3, and like a bit of Petroc Trelawny in the morning as well. A lot of this has been because of less listening to Radio 4 especially the Today programme with some of the newish presenters and too much Trump.

But I also like Lauryn Laverne (pity she's not on the breakfast show anymore), Radcliffe and Maconie, Don Letts and Riley and Coe on 6MUSIC. And random Portuguese Radio stations for a bit of fado and that lovely lilting modern stuff they won Eurovision with a few years ago.
I used to listen to Radio 4 a lot, and had the Today programme on every morning whilst getting ready for work for many many years. Over the last few years I've completely knocked the Today programme on the head for the following reasons:

1. It's the same old 'news' designed to frighten people.
2. They don't ask the questions that matter.
3. They cut short every interview due to time constraints, so you usually learn bugger all.
4. I live in the UK, not U.S, and I'm sick and bloody tired of hearing about that country.

So instead I listen to silence whilst getting ready for work, then have Radio 3 on randomly throughout the day as work dictates, as well as every evening later at night like I always did.

I have no gripes with Radio 3, beyond the sickly sweet put on voice that Sara Mohr-Pietsch and Hannah Peel are told to use for Nightracks. Neither of them talk like that ordinarily!

Btw, the subject of Cotw this week is Max Richter. A real treat!

Love the hit parade.

I’m kidding. It’s 2025. Music radio serves me no purpose.
In what way does music radio serve you no purpose in 2025?

Bit of an odd question. I don't know what it does for others? Nostalgia, recommending new music, filling gaps in the air...?

Music radio provides nothing for me which a combination of YouTube, Spotify and my own extensive music collection can't provide - all customisable and tailored to my personal preferences.

How is it an odd question. You didn't give the reasons, so naturally I'm curious, on a thread about BBC music programmes, that's all.

A FiP update . It seems to be back on FM in the Brighton area . Very chilled driving round today, with windowns and sunroof open , and some French grooves on the radio.

Only really listen to 1btn these days. Have recently been enjoying:

Brunonumerouno - house music on a Tuesday morning
Balearic Mike - well, balearic isn't it. Excellent selector.
Wildblood & Queenie - disco disco disco

Minimal talking
Cheers for spreading the word about this. Not heard of 1BTN before and listened to Wildblood and Queenie and Jalapeno Records shows on Mixcloud yesterday. Well good.
