And in case you'd forgotten this completely bonkers conspiracy from several years ago... It's back in the news. Thanks, Texas -- you never disappoint in showing us that you're the most credulous, craven, cowardly and cruel state in the US.

This has so often been used to attack my community when its the American gun culture making it a necessity to enable kids to go to the toilet during an active shooter situation. I'm sick of it and I'm so annoyed that this particular line of attack is coming back.

J.D. Vance Booed As He Takes His Seat At The Kennedy Center

As Trump’s Vice President J.D. Vance walked to his seat in the balcony, a chorus of boos began. Once he was in his seat, Vance waved, said something to second lady Usha Vance — whom Trump recently appointed to the board — and smiled. The boos then spread more broadly across the venue.

In early February, Trump threatened to make the Kennedy Center "GREAT AGAIN," announcing his plan to remove those "who do not share our Vision for a Golden Age in Arts and Culture."

"We will soon announce a new Board, with an amazing Chairman, DONALD J. TRUMP!" he added. "Just last year, the Kennedy Center featured Drag Shows specifically targeting our youth - THIS WILL STOP. The Kennedy Center is an American Jewel, and must reflect the brightest STARS on its stage from all across our Nation. For the Kennedy Center, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!"
Trump's vision for the Kennedy Centre is the same as Nazi Germany's reaction to what they termed "degenerate art" (mainly simply modern art), which was removed from museums, destroyed and banned from being produced.

The odd thing about Fox is that it had pretty much washed its hands with Trump – especially after it cost them a fortune with all the 'rigged election' nonsense. And now it's right back up his arsehole again. Money (or something else slightly more sinister) talks, I guess?
Michael Wolff has spoken about this recently - Murdoch hates Trump and did indeed try to wash his hands of him often Jan 6th. Trump maintaining his hold over the Republicans meant he accepted defeat and return to the fold.

Another old man who can’t exit stage right soon enough for my liking. It’s all quite desperate stuff.

Brighton factually.....
Trump is still banging on about Greenland & thinks the USA will annex Greenland...
Mr Tw@tty Tw@t Tw@t Trump questioned Denmark's claim to the territory, saying Denmark was "very far away" from Greenland....

Righty'o, will he be giving back American Soma or Gaum them ?
Nah thought not

He is also still instant that Canada will become the 51st State, the word he uses is annex, I was pretty sure in mind that it means to invade or take over land using military means, quick check.

"Annexation, in international law, is the forcible acquisition and assertion of legal title over one state's territory by another state, usually following military occupation of the territory. In current international law, it is generally held to be an illegal act."

Yep it does, no wonder he gets along with Putin so well, not much is being made of these two objectives by Trump it seems.
Is this because world leaders think it is all bluster and he won't go through with it, but could it actually happen ?
If he tried to take Greenland by force I am sure it would not take long, or come against very little opposition, but how would Europe respond ?
Quietly raise concerns diplomatically or face our one time allies on the battlefield.
Canada would put up a better fight and France would be compelled to help while I think Starmer would write a strongly worded post on X.

Regardless of how much or how little opposition they would face, I cannot see high-ranking US military personnel carrying out orders from Trump to attack a NATO ally.

I couldn't think of much worse right now. Maybe being forced to become Russian?

I don't deny that such appointments are all very possible (as mad as it seems), but when it comes down to it these won't be the guys that are giving soldiers direct orders to pull the trigger against Canadians or Danes in their own countries. I cannot see US soldiers of any rank doing this.

Overheard a couple talking in a local cafe this morning.
“Trump’s doing the right thing with tariffs, he wants us to buy American. If it means French wine costs more in Sainsbury’s then so be it.”
They think US/EU tariffs will apply in Britain as well

They were boomers, naturally. Brexit arrogance (“I know nothing of how global trade works but I have correct opinions about it”) is still strong with them.
