Or Baleba, Van Hecke, Hinshelwood, Ayari, Mitoma and MintehYes, this is what I think. We can't dine of Mac Alister and Caicedo forever, people will start to look at Barco, Enciso, Ferguson, Buonanotte, Adingra.

You could certainly argue young South Americans might not feel this club is the safe bet it was. Those kind of optics ARE important with our model even if the reality is we can’t win them all.Yes, this is what I think. Question it all you like, but neither have shown that they have earned a place in the starting line up. If they go on loan and get game time, then we get back players in a FAR better state that n rotting on the bench here.I agree, but at the same time if Evan and Enciso have a great second half of the season in new teams, fit and firing in the goals, it would make me question what's going on here.

I get your point generally, but there have been so many other successes in terms of 'pathway' other than just MacAlister and Caicedo. Even of the players you use as bad examples.. Enciso and Buonanotte are playing Prem football. Adingra won the African Cup of Nations while with us, and has had good periods with us. & Evan & Barco are still incredibly young with a long future ahead of them. I'd bet none of them are thinking 'oh I should never have joined Brighton!'. They've all made huge leaps in their pathway since joining us, considering where they previously were.Yes, this is what I think. Enciso gave everything but was rusty and short of confidence due to lack of game time. Evan looked disinterested, slow and unengaged.Question it all you like, but neither have shown that they have earned a place in the starting line up. Or in the past, White, Bissouma, Trossard, Sanchez,, Cucurella etc. To say we're dining out on Caicedo & MacAllister is far from the truth.Or Verbruggen, Estupiñan, Pedro, Rutter
Yep. And Baleba, Ayari and Van Hecke are not doing too badly either!Or in the past, White, Bissouma, Trossard, Sanchez,, Cucurella etc. To say we're dining out on Caicedo & MacAllister is far from the truth.

I see this on NSC quite often. Is it true? It doesn't feel that way to me.The thing I dont understand about the Evan loan is that if he goes then thats potentially us a striker down for the rest of season, at a time when we've been lacking goals. Because of that the consensus seems to be that he'll only go if another comes in (Tzimas maybe). & thats great if the incoming striker is someone Premier League ready. It provides an immediate upgrade. But with the rumoured strikers we're after, and knowing our 'type', it looks almost certain to actually be a young striker that will need time to adapt. So that begs the question that if we're going to bring someone in that might take months to get upto speed & show some form, then why not instead use those minutes getting Evan upto speed?
Well after Saturday I'm not sure that Pedro is a number 10 either. We massively missed the guile and football brain of Gross/Lallana. Pedro is a cracking player but he's not the answer to a low-block.I do think this is odd given our out-and-out CF options will simply be Welbz. I suppose Rutter can play there and even JP (although he isn't at his best as a number 9.
Didn't we have the same problem with Gross and Lallana in the team? As a clue, the answer is yes we did. Pedro didn't have his best game on Saturday unfortunately, but he's a top class number 10.Well after Saturday I'm not sure that Pedro is a number 10 either. I think O'Riely is supposed to be this player but is taking time to bed in.Well after Saturday I'm not sure that Pedro is a number 10 either. We massively missed the guile and football brain of Gross/Lallana. Pedro is a cracking player but he's not the answer to a low-block.
Could always score more... See Everton game.I see this on NSC quite often. Is it true? It doesn't feel that way to me.
Only two teams below us have score more (Spurs and Brentford) and two teams above us have scored fewer (Fortest and Villa)
