Yes this thread can morph into anything and that’s fine but I think you know that I was specifically asking if we need a transfer thread in addition to all the separate threads for each transfer target?


Again, you know I was specifically referring to social media sources of transfer news/interest posted by journalists not a chat forum.

Anyway I‘m not interested personally in taking the time to post any transfer updates/links here if we don’t want the thread to be for that so happy to let the thread now drop off the front pages and/or morph into a general chat about anything and everything and not be for whats happing in the January transfer.

If I see anything new, I’ll start a new thread for each player if one hasn’t been started already

Bit precious about this thread aren't you? Of course we don't need this thread, but it's good to have in addition to to the individual player ones. As KG said just go with the flow, people will use it if they want to and won't if they don't. Same goes for you, don't spend your time on it if you don't want to

This thread is the transfer thread I look at most at the moment. It's hard to find transfer rumours amongst all the RIP threads

I agree, I check this one first and if there's a reliable rumour I might see if there is a player one for more in depth discussion about them

I’ll stop posting to this thread point taken. I only started it because I thought it would be helpful ( for me!!) to see all the transfer updates in one place - appreciate I have been posting on it more than anyone else

I am going with the flow and Im getting the impression that people are preferring the individual player threads to post updates and discuss the January window links not this one - in fact several posts have suggested as much at times when I have the inadvertently duplicated news posted elsewhere…hence my suggestion.

If people want to make this a general chat about anything that’s fine, as I said I’ll post on existing threads or start a new one of appropriate for individual players - Don’t turn a common sense observation into something it isn’t.

The reason I said you are precious about it is because you have posted several times about how it is or isn't being used. I'm glad to hear you are going with the flow about it, maybe posting a little less would actually make me believe that you are

This meta discussion about the usefulness or not of this thread is more annoying than anything else. If people want to engage they will, if they don't they won't.

I see a notification and come to the thread to see who we're linked to. Simple as that, keep it going on that track.

This, if I may be so bold, is part of your problem. Where in my post did I suggest you stop posting on this or any other thread? Just stick to the subject of the thread and stop analysing the thread itself and projecting about whether or not people 'want' your thread to exist. When you just want some transfer news or rumours, that stuff is really tedious.
