Sorry I find it ridiculous to think you can buy new VERY YOUNG players and expect them to walk straight in to the team and perform together as a team.

For me this year is a growing year, a new young coach, new young players…its frustrating to watch as they are not joined up yet, but there are real glimmers of incredible stuff here which would be great to see develop and I hope we don’t lose to many of them before it develops…

Why on earth people expect new signings to waltz in to the PL and play like ManU or Liverpool I just don’t understand…
Not sure I would ever want us to play like Man U this season.

.

After the amount of money spent, I would have thought most of us thought so.
We are very much in transition this season, new manager, 7 (so far) new players that should be challenging for 1st team places and major infrastructure changes.

If fans thought we would be challenging for Europe this season they are deluded. Remember, we played well the season we got to Europe but Chelsea and Spurs were very poor. Only Spurs poor form looks like giving an opening for European football next season and Bournemouth or Forest look to be on the case

No proper preseason together due to the Euros, late signings etc - ffs we spent £200 million
We sold Pascal, WBG and Undav and then Buonanotte and Barco went on ”needless” loans - ffs we spent £200 million
Joao Pedro, Dunk, Jan Paul, Welbeck, Webster, March etc from last years squad all injured at some stage contributing to us leading the table on player/days lost to injury.- ffs we spent £200 million!
Wieffer, Gruda, O’Riley, Minteh, Kadioglu - all 5 of the 6 new arrivals injured at some stage already and any team would take time to integrate new signings with a new manager - ffs we spent £200 million!!
We didn't actually spend £200 million on this season's squad - we spent £199 million less £24 million for Osman and Yalcouye who went straight out on loan, so we spent £175 million but recouped £47 million on sales, giving a nett spend of £128 million - FFS WE SPENT £200 MILLION !!!
Rinse ( bedsheets ) and repeat.

Glad someone else spotted that - thought I was imagining it!
happened at 57:45 ish. I think it's that little sh!t toss-hard who builds up momentum and bear hugs him. I remember that Mourinho used to have john terry push players out of the wall to give the free kick taker a direct shot and that never got punished.

Funny I thought I was on your ignore list 😉
Yes you were. I wanted to enjoy the match and feel I could pass comments on the players without you quoting me each time and using my comments as a stick with which to beat FH.

Match over - 👍

I recall seeing Adam El-Abd doing this on occasion - except it was a sideways shove to open a gap in the wall!

Learned something new last night

When the crowd were berating arse players for having a go at the ref when one of their players had to go off after treatment, seemly the rule is if you are treated from the result of a tackle resulting in a booking, you DONT have to go off after treatment. ( Joel booking?)

So Taylor was wrong and the whinging cheating bastards we’re right after all.

Maybe Taylor considered that although it was a booking, the 'injury' requiring 'treatment' was little to do with the challenge?

I thought we went on a tour to Japan and then they played a full preseason, sounds like an ok preseason to me

I'm not sure you are worth arguing with, you seem very fixed in your views and relying on tropes to back up your position. But this is simply nonsense.
Says someone isn’t worth arguing with, then proceeds to argue and name call without any substance. Of course, I’m the issue here…

But, seeing as I’m apparently relying on tropes, who of the players we’ve signed has become a first choice player?

BV is our first choice. Not signed in the summer.

Veltman, JPVH, Dunk, Estupinan are our first choice defence - none signed in the summer.

Baleba and Ayari/Hinsh have been our first choice midfield. None signed in the summer.

Mitoma JP and March are our first choice attacking midfielders. None signed in the summer.

Welbeck is our first choice striker. Not signed in the summer.

The only real arguments are MOR, and then Minteh or Gruda due to March’s injury, but none have nailed down a place or come close to meeting expectations *yet*.

But you keep being unnecessarily rude to people online who disagree with your view and who have higher hopes for our club than you do.

We were missing all the players involved in the euros, or taking late holidays because of the euros, whilst in Japan.

I don’t think @Couldn't Be Hyypia was calling you names or being rude, based on his postings, he doesn’t strike me as someone who does that - I think you may have misinterpreted his comments..

What you maybe are not appreciating is apart from the point raised earlier about the level of EPL football (very fast and intense), our summer recruits are mostly very young or have been injured.

Minteh is 19 years old, Gruda is 20 yrs, we are not going to play them for 90 mins when they are not conditioned to do so BUT we only have 5 substitutions for a League match so we need to not only give the youngsters minutes but be tactical ie what’s happening on pitch that day and allow for potential injuries in the second half (or we could be down to 10 men if we run out of subs ) - imo both Gruda and O’Riley started against Arsenal and looked out of their depth in a fast box to box game so would have been taken off anyway whether they could have managed 90 mins or not..

Of the older recruits Rutter (22) is being used fairly consistently but with Welbeck injured, he has yet to find the same sort of partnership with Pedro and Ferguson - he is still bedding into the team as is Weiffer (24). Tbh only Weiffer has disappointed me so far, he‘s about where Baleba was last season but he is improving.

O’Riley is coming back from longterm injury
Ferdi is injured
Osman on loan to Feeynoord
Malik Yalcouyé (straight out on loan to Sturm)

It think that’s it. Our Summer spend.

Agreed but I thought he had also said that our fitness levels were not there yet. With this in mind, playing the half’s with a different plan would seem viable.
We will no doubt get there at some point
I doubt that fitness is the whole story.
Our lack of intensity is often a first half issue.
If it was just fitness, we would see a decline in the second half, not the other way around
