Had long enough now. Not worth the money. And not quite good enough.

:fishing:

Lots of bites tonight.

I agree. He should be scoring Worldies, who cares if he's only had a couple of subs appearances after being injured in November after major injuries over the last years, or that he's still playing a system and with players he doesn't know, or the fact he's just turned 21. Who cares, get rid, because Dwayne knows better than our coaching team.

Too much money wasted on a young experiment (bloom knew) ...Hopefully he proves me wrong.

On the bright side, you're so often proved wrong that I'm now feeling quite optimistic. Admit it, you make these statements as a kind of negative psychology thing, dont you? 😉
I think he's content to be a stopped clock.

(and that's not cockney rhyming slang).

Was a well placed shot and a good save. That goes in and we’d be in raptures about him not writing him off, very small margins
That's an example of how the media used to gaslight the labour party, asking a low level operative to comment on the 'baa baa black sheep ban' for example. Once someone is mugged into commenting on a nonexistent item, it is suddenly brought into existence, like Jesus under the Turin Shroud.

Just because Dwayne doesn't rate Fati does not mean 'we' have 'written him off'.

Tbf he was, but after 24 game absence I was expecting much. Just surprised he was sent on to win a game. I thought he needed a gentle introduction when we were already winning.

Exactly what I thought. Love RDZ but like I said in the match day thread, putting on 3 players at once, all just back from injury (Enciso and Veltz for their first time in months), when we're pushing to win, wasn't the right choice from what I could see.

I'm intrigued about what will happen to Fati in the summer, expect his wages will be too rich for us even on loan again, but who else will go for him - Villa, Newcastle? Maybe he will take a bit paycut to join a smaller Spanish team? Could he end up somewhere Stateside?

If we can't afford his wages then there is no way a smaller Spanish team would be able to.

I think it all depends on Barcelona and their finances. Can they afford to keep Ansu as part of their wage structure? Not really. Can they sell him for the type of money they expected when he signed his contract? Very unlikely. A loan is probably a likely option again, to either us or a similar sized side that can afford to cover the majority of his wages.

Barca will be banking on him having a good, injury free, season and either a) reintegrating him as an important first team player, or b) selling him for enough money that they are able to improve their financial status. I think that was the plan for this season but unless he has a world-beating end to the season, the injury may have put those plans back a year.

Big game for him tonight. Needs to step up.
Or what? What can we do about it?

His priority is going to remain getting his fitness up and getting the minutes needed to hit the ground running for a tilt at the euros squad and his return to Barca, or more likely his sale to someone richer than us

That's the thing about getting loanees in, they may have different priorities
