Notes from the meeting this week were posted on the FAB website on Wednesday https://bhafc-fab.co.uk/notes-from-meeting-held-on-12th-february/

The FAB discussed the meeting held with the club on 5th February and the action points arising from it.

The main discussion point was upcoming elections for new FAB members. It was agreed that 2 members of the founding FAB would remain in post for a further year to assist in succession planning and give time for new recruits to learn the ropes. A recruitment sub-committee has been formed of Nigel, Gerry and Andy together with someone from BHAFC yet to be named. Gill will get back to the Club with the updates and the minutes of the 5th February meeting with the Club.

An induction with new FAB members will be held in September 2024. Ideas will be sent to the club.

The FAB discussed a recent meeting held at the Club about the proposed Fanzone. Planning permission is hoped to be granted in March. The FAB are aware that Paul Barber asked for fans feedback into the fanzone and the club have asked for that to be delayed until planning permission is granted. It is difficult to see what input will be required but the FAB will investigate further in March.

The Fans’ Forum webinar was also discussed and the date of 18th March confirmed. Gerry will liaise with the club. The FAB are excited to be holding their first FAB forum.

Jo had been representing Brighton WSL fans on tonight’s The One Show and reported that we’d drawn Manchester United in the women’s FA Cup.

Clive reported on a useful meeting with Monster Energy regarding a new flag for the Amex.
So, basically nothing much at all that impacts the average fan.

Paras 1-4, doing business with yourselves - FAB admin
Para 5, club will do what they think is best but you chatted about it
Para 6, see 1-4
Para 7 - the draw was public anyway

Sorry but cynicism reinforced

They are working on a new flag, along the lines of the large RDZ flag.
Great. But can I reiterate a point I have previously made on here… In terms of new flags for the Amex, would it not be a good idea to look at more flags that can fill the grey wall spaces like the Stand or Fall banner, rather than ones that are passed overhead. Flags like this would have less logistical issues and would give the Amex a more Albion blue & white feel. The club can designate spaces, Dogma could design them, the fans could donate to fund them. Easy.

Also, if working on a new flag could it be a generic Albion one that can be used long after a manager/player leaves.

Would love to see potential designs at some point.

Thanks for those that take part in FAB .Sure your intention is good but with PB at helm with aim to just increase income and any good PR he can distribute you have a tough job Appreciate I may not be right but my interest was P&R , Ticket sharing and clubs lack of any input about travel in general apart from it is nothing to do with them. I have long ago given up on these as they said they wont cover the queue to park and ride brcause of cost and assume saving cost is the reason PB has gone back on his word that Mithras P&R would be replaced. Sharing scheme must have raised lots of money with loads of new members even if only attending one game.

Two months time. Clearly FAB isn’t a priority for the club.
How it started …2022
How it’s going…oct 2023

Clearly PB isn’t in favour so it’s just dying a death.

There was meant to be a FAB for under 18s too.

The energy of the Club is towards corporate sponsors, tunnel club members and influencers.

Apologies if I’ve missed it, but did FAB raise the tear gassing issue in Athens with the club ? Given that at least one of their number, Andy Goodchild, was gassed on the night.
Yes still waiting for feedback on that (I was also gassed)

I’m afraid to say that this is where I am too.

Most of the updates seem to be either meetings about meetings or else progress on recruiting new members.

I expected things like that in the infancy of the FAB, but we’re now a good deal further on from that in terms of time and I can’t really see what has been delivered. I might have missed things, so more than happy to be enlightened if so.

If ever there was proof of what a pointless waste of time this is, just read this paragraph.

I feel for you Barry. FAB is already evidently a complete waste of your time, and others. I’d resign and spend more time with the kids etc. Life’s too short to spend any of it on such a committee.

....or, there's genuinely not that much for the FAB to get exercised about because the club get the vast majority of things right in the first place (and those that still rankle - like transport - aren't going to be affected by a few fan reps talking about it).

The kicking the FAB members are getting is incredibly unpleasant.

Posters ought to take a moment on themselves before jackbooting their way through other people's endeavours.

Think it’s more recognition that they are on a hiding to nothing - there’s no platform
Yeah but it's coming in the form of:-

'I don't mean to be rude and insulting but..'.

Given that the club are clearly open to meeting fan groups, have never said that the FAB is the sole group that they are open to meeting or hearing from and that they pride themselves on engaging with fans - without the need for the govt or PL to regulate . Then those who are dismissive of the FAB on here , consider it ineffectual and still want to lobby the club to change. Then as @attila as often argued - why not organise, protest and change the club yourself be it for safe standing, food, travel , or ticket sharing, pricing and sanctions. Tell us how you're getting on - I'd be interested to hear what you're doing and the progress you're making ?

I dont think I feel strongly enough about anything to protest so just concentrate on the football. Have to understand PL is all about money and trying to increase income here and round the world. On protest interesting there was big protest at West Ham when wanting to go digital that ended up with them letting people keep cards.

Villa were trending on Twitter yesterday after someone tweeted (then deleted) a letter from 'aston villa staff' to their fan advisory Board seeking their help. I won't go into specifics, because I don't know how legitimate their claims are (others saved the image of the letter and have retweeted it), but they paint a picture of concern (with regard to employment law, which impacted club staff, rather than players) asking their FAB to raise the issue at meetings.
