Not a Bloom horse
Bit of a E/W long shot whisper about Northfield Lake 18.30 Kempton tonight currently a ridiculous 200-1 with 365, obviously the likelihood of this tentative punt coming in is very unlikely but the source is pretty sound going on previous and rare information,so if your 50p e/W ends up last needing a lift past the post I wouldn't be surprised, but i also wouldn't be surprised if it did place.

I've a free bet looking for a home, that'll do.

Thanks for the heads up win, lose or draw.

🤞

That filthy each way bet a sure fire way to get your account closed if it wins/placed...

Tread carefully if you value your accounts

First time out easy winner in the 1930 for 2 joint owners, one being a 'Mr Tony Bloom'

Well backed too!

(ZERO style late EDIT) The joint owner seems to be Head of Football at Starlizard.

Just realised that my previous post was in the Members section of the RP website. Here is the text:

Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy, joint-owners of last season’s Gimcrack winner Lake Forest, have joined forces with professional punter Patrick Veitch with the aim of having an increased presence in British Flat racing.

Bloom, who as chairman has overseen the rise of Brighton & Hove Albion from League One to the Premier League and a first European campaign this season, will establish the breeding operation First Bloodstock alongside McAleavy at Hillwood Stud, which is run by Charlie and Tracy Vigors in Marlborough.

Veitch already has a band of high-quality mares at the Wiltshire stud and will work with Bloom and McAleavy, the head of football at Bloom's analytics firm Starlizard, to assist in sourcing Flat horses to be trained by William Haggas, Andrew Balding and Ralph Beckett.

Lake Forest won two of his five starts as a juvenile for Haggas and finished second in the July Stakes at Newmarket before his Group 2 success at York.

His stablemate The Reverend was a debut winner at Newmarket in November on his only start at two for Bloom and McAleavy, who also had two juveniles make the track with Balding last season.

They were most recently successful with Silent Glance, who scored on her debut at Kempton for Beckett last week and is one of 15 horses they will have in training this season.

Bloom, who also has some horses in training with Karl Burke and whose most high-profile winners have included 2022 and 2023 Champion Chase scorer Energumene, Librisa Breeze, Penhill and Withhold, said: “We are delighted Patrick has agreed to become involved as his analytical approach chimes with the way we look at sport and he was first on our list when we decided to expand.

“We’re joining him in having our breeding operation at Hillwood Stud, but Ian and I are also keen for more runners on the Flat. Patrick has agreed to help with some of those and chose Lake Forest which got us off to a great start.”

Bloom and McAleavy spent nearly 4 million guineas at the Tattersalls December Mares sale last month, adding 2.5 million guineas buy Get Ahead, 1.1 million guineas purchase Primo Bacio and 380,000gns acquisition My Eyes Adore You to their broodmare band.

Veitch said: “What’s happened at Brighton has quickly established Tony as the shrewdest name in the world of football. Being able to bounce ideas off minds as sharp as theirs will certainly be helpful.

“We've decided that going forward all the horses we breed will be sold as yearlings. I’m happy to focus just on breeding rather than owning these days, whereas Tony and Ian are keen to have runners in their colours.

“Those horses will be sourced entirely separately, from other vendors, so that buyers of our yearlings know where they stand.”

Bloom and McAleavy will aim to selectively expand their broodmare team following their recent purchases and praised the Vigors’ track record for producing Stakes winners.

The Hillwood Stud team are excited about the new partnership and Charlie Vigors said: “Patrick was exceptionally strong on Lope De Vega as a sire when he stood at a much lower fee. He enjoyed great success with Manuela De Vega, Antonia De Vega and Feliciana De Vega, and also bought shares in the stallion and has bred a host of stakes winners by him.

“Obviously, there’s more diversification now and, with Tony and Ian also purchasing high-quality mares, and clear instructions to sell everything, we’re looking forward to sending top-quality drafts to the sales.”

Tony has Bunting running this afternoon in a Grade 1 Juvenile hurdle at Leopardstown (13:50). Best price as I write is 16/1 with Betfred (no bigger on the exchanges) 14/1 elsewhere.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on the price as we get closer to the off as could represent a decent each way opportunity.

Alpine Oasis ran a fine debut on a tricky track for a newcomer.

She is a lovely looker and ran very green (her head was all over the shop in the home straight). Beaten 5-6 lengths by experienced horses without the jockey even picking up the persuader.

One to add to your watch lists. I will be very surprised if there isn't a win in her soon

Just got 12/1 for 2 places on bet365. 3rd fav of 5 runners. 12/1 to outperform by 1 place, I’ll have a big slug of that.
