Surely he needs to spend longer over there if he wants to make Saudi Arabia a welcoming place for all sexualities.

Sounds like a quitter and money grabber with no backbone or morals. The opposite personality of anyone you would want at your club.
Having lived and worked in SA albeit a long time ago, perhaps he found out what it´s really like there and decided he had made a terrible mistake.

Thanks for your forensic consideration.

You're most welcome.

I have recanted. See post above.

Blimey you've done a complete volte-face. Although I really didn't like the (IMO) insincere interview he gave, I (as I said earlier) wouldn't actually mind him coming here (if it's what the club wanted and he said the right things re LGBT rights etc). You seem like you're geeing yourself up for a good booing session next time he comes to the Amex.

Voted No, I think we're covered for aging midfielders. I think Lallana is excellent on and off the pitch. Milner is having to work really hard to keep up. For a variety of reasons , don't think I want Henderson

What did you think it would be like before going, and what was it really like?

Same. We've got enough old lags on board now for the youngsters 'to learn from'. Not that it probably doesn't go in one ear and out the other, like with most youngsters anywhere 😀

Yes. I have. Of the options I have considered, I suspect that 'stupid' describes him best.

And when it comes to volte-faccery, if the club were to bring him here I would conclude that the club knows more about it than me, and I'd complete my full 360 degrees with a small 'hurrah!'. Luckily I suspect I won't be put to the test.

The money was a given …he stressed “growing the game” …I just don’t agree with your comment that he is beyond criticism over that aspect …no high horse here Harry 😉

I had suspected that much of the mocking of Hendo over his LGBTQ+ 'hypocrisy' has been gleeful, and has come from people who don't support LGBTQ+ rights.

However a quick search on the internet has brought up page after page of articles from people of LGBT or Q background, hammering Hendo for his failure to explain his position, and the apparent support has given, vicariously, to the medieval regime.

So I recant. There appears to be no evidence of honesty and much evidence of hypocrisy at worst, or rank stupidity at best. In view of all this, Hendo can piss off.

Every day is a school day on NSC.
There's really no need for language like that H, this is a family board

i reckon there's a problem with a subjective view, what some fans might classify as dickhead and what the club does. seems in eyes of many simply taking the money makes Henderson fail the test.
I think part of the problem would be him turning his back on a cause that he supported and all for money and then signing for a club in a city known for it's LGBTQ+ community.

I was recruited as a supermarket manager and expected to be in a town /city.
I finished up in King Khalid Military City a base being built by the US Corp of Engineers. Surrounded by barbed wire, batchelors quarters and allowed out on leave every 6 months.

Never mind the moral dilemma: the man has spent six months playing against washed up mercenaries and Saudi farmers, and even more concerning, under the management of STEVEN GERRARD.

How on earth can anybody expect Henderson to drag himself up from that sort of low to meet Roberto de Zerbi's standards?

Although I bet he's good enough for England.

He could play four seasons in a row for the team bottom of the Vanarama South and Southgate would pick him for England.
